Raleigh, N.C. – Rosen Law Firm, the leading divorce firm in North Carolina, says during the summer months, recently separated or divorced couples may struggle with agreements over who gets to take the kids on vacation and when.

“Conflicts over summer vacation especially occur where one parent remarries and the other parent has a problem with the kids vacationing with the new companion,” says Lee Rosen, founder and president of Rosen Law Firm, who has been practicing divorce law in North Carolina for more than twenty years. “In the end it’s the kids that miss out on a fun experience because they feel guilty going on vacation and letting down the upset parent.”

Attorneys at Rosen say even when there’s disagreement over the scheduling of visitation, both parents have good intentions trying to plan a summer vacation that’s fun and interesting for the kids. In fact, attorneys say most parents are planning the summer months with their children in mind.

“A lot of parents chose to make summer vacation a problem when it doesn’t have to be,” says Rosen. “Many times they’re using the scheduling of the vacation to create a situation so there’s engagement with the other parent because of unresolved issues in their relationship, but in the end it’s the children who suffer.”

Appreciation for your Child
By: Clark A. Thomas | 16/04/2007 | Parenting
I know there are times when our children can really be a pain in the butt. I know they can get on our nerves periodically. I know if it wasn’t for my child then I personally don’t think my life would have become what it has become today. It amazes me when I look back over the last twelve years of my life and see my daughter continuing to grow up.

Honesty In Marriage
By: David Beart | 05/06/2007 | Marriage
Humans are not particularly honest creatures. We pretend we are, but really in the end, when we pile up all the individual little "I didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings" lies, we aren't brazenly honest at all. Is this a bad thing? Is being honest with your spouse 100% of...

The Challenges of Parenthood
By: Clark A. Thomas | 04/04/2007 | Parenting
One thing all parents have in common is that children or a child will challenge their authority. It’s across the board; whether you are financially rich or economically poor, children will challenge your authority. Do you have a rebellious child? Do you have a child that acts out in school or at home? Does your child embarrass you in public?

Children are Responsible for Their Own Actions

The telephone ring; it’s a call from your child’s teacher. The teacher is calling to inform you that your child has been disrespectful and disruptive in school. You calmly listen to the comments being made about your child and wonder in awl. It’s a fact children will be children regardless of where they are at.

Who’s the Parent you or your Child?
By: Clark A. Thomas | 04/04/2007 | Parenting
It is quite fascinating today when I see some parents letting their child or children tell them (the parent) what they want to do or what they’re going to do. Or even what they won’t do. Do you let your child tell you want they’re going to do? I’m from the old school. Back in the day if I told my parents what I was going to do or want I wanted to do in detail I would have been slapped right in the face and put in my place as a child.

Staying Joyful While Parenting
By: Clark A. Thomas | 16/04/2007 | Parenting
Though frustrations may come; staying joyful is what must be done to keep your sanity while parenting. Joy is an attribute that comes from God and it’s a gift from God. To be honest with you; there’s only one way to be filled with joy and that’s through the person of the Holy Spirit. I know some of you who may be reading this article may not be Christians or believe like I do, but if you are reading this article then one thing we both have in common are being parents.
