Shcri.com: Domestic Demand for Bulldozer Increases, Bringing Recovery to Machinery Industry

www.shcri.com -- In April 2009, China’s bulldozer export volume reached 110, a year-on-year slip of 67.7 percent and a decrease of 9.7 percent link relative ratio. Compared with that of the past several months, the bulldozer export volume will continue to decline in future.

China's total bulldozer export volume of the first four months of 2009 showed a decrease of 53.3 percent to nearly 600. Although the decrease ratio is the same as that of loader and far lower than that of excavator, it also hinders the recovery of the machinery industry for the export of bulldozer makes up a high percentage of the industry’s total export.

However, the sales of bulldozers in China rise rapidly. In April 2009, the domestic sales increased year on year by 19.5 percent and link relative ratio of 5.4 percent to about 760. The total bulldozer sales of the first four months of 2009 in China represented a year-on-year increment of 3.4 percent to about 2250. It is the first time for bulldozer sales to realize a positive accumulative growth rate, which reflects a faster progress of recovery of the domestic demand for bulldozers than loaders and excavators.

In April 2009, the sales of Shantui, XCMC, TONGE and Pengpu decreased year on year by respectively 9.9 percent, 28.9 percent, -6.3percent and 65.6 percent to respectively 500,110,100 and 20. The market shares that the four companies made up were respectively 58.1 percent, 12. 4 percent, 11.6 percent and 2.5 percent. Compared with statistics of March 2009, except a slight rise of 0.3 percent in market share of Shantui, the rest three companies all saw a decrease and XCMC dropped by 3.3 percent. In April 2009, the bulldozer export volume of Shantui witnessed a sharp decrease of 62 percent to 90, making up 78.6 percent of the total amount. The export volume of XCMC, TONGE and Pengpu all stayed below 10.

In April 2009, China’s sales of large bulldozer of 220 plus hp declined year on year by 34.3 percent to 240 while its market share decreased year on year by 9.6 percent and increased link relative ratio by 9.1 percent to 27.1 percent. Sales of bulldozer of 70-160 hp dropped year on year by 15.3 percent to about 170 while its market share showed a link relative ratio slip of 5.9 percent to 19.6 percent. Sales of bulldozer of 160-220 hp rose year on year by 10.5 percent to about 460 while its market share showed a link relative ratio decrease of 3.2 percent to 53.3 percent. In the first four months of 2009, the market share of high-powered bulldozer saw a year-on-year decline of 14.6 percent to 26.4 percent.
