Sustainable Office Expert to Speak at Prestigious Event Sustainable workplace specialist Lara Conaway will be offering advice on the ‘green office’ to fellow professionals at a major facilities management event. She will address delegates at the event’s ‘Sustainability Seminar’ which is expected to be visited by facilities managers and other property professionals from across the UK. The aim of the seminar is to highlight key issues around reducing energy usage, cutting carbon emissions and creating more sustainable businesses. Total Workplace Management is the official exhibition of the British Institute of Facilities Management and is the largest annual event of its kind staged in the UK. Lara will talk about the processes involved in planning and delivering a sustainable workplace, drawing on Morgan Lovell’s experiences with its own London head office refurbishment. The Morgan Lovell project has achieved the highest BREEAM rating in the UK to date, despite the massive challenges involved in transforming a multi-tenanted 1960s office block. Total Workplace Management is part of the Working Buildings 2008 event and takes place on October 8 and October 9, 2008. Working Buildings also includes two further events, Energy Solutions Expo and Building Service. Lara is in demand on the events lecture circuit having given a presentation at the Facilities Show at the National Exhibition Centre earlier this year. She has worked in the office design and office fit out industry for more than 10 years.
