Trying to Save Money

By: Diane Palmer | Posted: 14-11-2007

If you are short of money every month, or you feel like you are digging yourself into a hole, and now feel you need to work more hours or pick up a second job.. then STOP right there.

You need to set aside a evening or better yet, a Saturday morning, when you are awake, and clear headed. List all of your current bills and payments. Start by going through each one, and seeing if there is anyway to make it less.

Try combining some bills, such as cell phones. These companies will quite often give a "family" plan for cell phones, but you have to ask..

Walk more instead of driving, or organize your errands to make less driving.

Watch those cash withdrawals, work out how much you need for a week, and do NOT go back to the ATM after than, all those 20's here and 20's there add up and so do the bank fees.

Go through your credit card statements, and see if you can combine any of them for savings..

Especially watch the cash flow, write down every day in a small notebook all your cash purchases, including coffee, goodies, etc...

Add all of this up for a month, and you will probably find enough savings, that you don't need to get that extra job.. get creative, this will be your new job, and then see more of life, instead of it going by in a blurr from working 2 shifts..

Start plugging the leaks in your finances, and you will be in better control... promise!
