Are the Children Spending Hours in Front of the Screen Really Smart?

The children today are exposed to a varied number of elements as compared to the children around twenty years back as a result they attain maturity earlier than their predecessors. It is said the child is the father of man; well this saying sometimes becomes very much applicable in today's context. The children today are really well informed regarding all the happenings in the world particularly sports, fashion, techno stuffs and so we refer to them as the gizmo freaks. Be it the latest model of Honda City, the best model of Nokia N series, the latest mission impossible bike to be launched, the fling that their favorite heroin had, or the latest version of NFS( a video game if you are ignorant), children know it all.

Talking about the gizmos and the video games, an important point that I must discuss here is that it has been established that TV, computers and video games hold the largest share in giving rise to a dangerous phenomenon known as childhood obesity. The relation between the video games and obesity in children has been proved. Video games are nothing less than addictions for most of the children. Owing to the pressure of the studies and the career building concerns, children spend hours altogether on the study table and over that their recreation involves all the activities that do not involve physical activity.

Playing video games or watching TV or if a child is computer savvy, there are certain implications that come with these activities and that is a rising BMI. Children have a tendency of munching while sitting in front of the screen and munching usually includes stuffs that are magnificently obesity friendly. Namely snacks like chips, cold drinks, sweets, junk foods etc. So the whole package becomes congenial for obesity to take its form.

Apart from these there are certain additional factors. Today a lot of mothers are working mothers. So if their wards are left home alone with maids they find it preferable when their children sit in front of the screen playing video games, browsing, or watching TV. These activities make them worry less about any mishap or any harm that can be caused to the health of their children, in case they ventured out of homes.

What these ladies fail to understand is that the long sittings of their children are bringing in bigger troubles. The possibilities of danger are always there everywhere and anywhere. It is not feasible to sit at home fearing external dangers. Growing children need the presence of both the parents for most of the time, more so the mother. It is understandable that career and money are important but then the child is equally and probably even more important. It is very important to raise a child healthily- both in the mental and the physical terms. Working parents compensate lack of their time for their child by giving in to the whims of the latter. Parents feel that providing their children with all the unhealthy food they want to have and all the other things that they want is the expression of their love for their children. But they are doing quite the opposite. They are unknowingly pushing their children towards obesity.

Children can't even be put on medicines like the weight loss drug Xenical and the others of its kind. Nor are they fit for the other weight loss methods. So extra care should be given to the fact that they don't get obese. For the grown ups however, Xenical weight loss is absolutely safe. However, it is important to know whether a person is safe from the Xenical side effects before he/ she actually decides to buy Xenical. Once these requirements are satisfied one can order Xenical and enjoy the benefits.
