Looking back, if I had known what I know now about internet marketing, chances are I would have never got involved with it.
Like most people getting into internet marketing I got into it to make money (quick money) because that's what most of the sellers of the online marketing e-books and courses lead you to believe.
If you just pay for (example) $49.95 I'll show you how to make money in just days.
So you buy the e-book or course.
After you get it, you find out if you really want to be successful, you'll need various tools...for a price of course.
Then you find out you need traffic (that's people to see what you are peddling)
Now they say the best ways to do this is as follows
Write a review
Write a blog
Write an article
Join various forums related to your product or service. The reason for this is you can make posts and replies about subjects related to your product or service and readers just may click on your signature link.
The main goal of any online marketer is to get a high ranking in Google, and that ain’t easy
It’s going to take lots of time and in most cases lots of money to accomplish this goal.
Let’s say you do all the above to the letter, it’s going to take several weeks to even get noticed.
Ok so you get noticed “Oh Happy Day” but getting noticed is not enough. You want these people to buy what you are peddling. Now keep in mind, there are more than likely thousands maybe millions of others peddling the same product or service. So you now you have to jockey for position so they will see your add first. You can do this several ways.
1. Write lots of blogs
2. Write lots of articles
3. Write lots of reviews
4. Join lots of forums
5. Send out lots of emails
6. Submit to thousands of search engines and free classifieds
7. Join a social network
8. Do a short presentation on YouTube
9. Press releases
10. Word of mouth
All the above are things you can do at little or no cost at all but keep in mind, you must devote most of your time to these tasks and you might make a sale or two within six to nine months if you’re lucky.
The bottom line is, online marketing is not at all easy. It’s going to take lots of time, energy and in some cases money to be successful….if you’re lucky! Keep in mind, only about 3% of people who get into online marketing succeed.
