They say best way to get the most for your money is to have large quantities printed to break even on the initial cost. This is what offset printing does. With short run printing, however, you get to print more flexibly which is important in these ever challenging and competitive times.
Do not confuse yourself whether to choose offset or short run printing. Each one has its own strengths and can lead you to run a different course. Here then is a short list that can help you decide when and how short run printing would prove to be ideal for you.
1. With short run printing, you can put your mind at ease. The cost of printing may be a little bit more expensive to print per piece (although still reasonably priced) but you can print in the amount you truly or urgently need.
2. Waste not, want not. In relation to the previous point, you can fully dispose of your materials more efficiently since you can print in the desired volume.
3. If you are hesitant to put out a large sum for marketing materials you have no or little guarantee will work. You can print through short run or digital printing process where you can test, study and analyze your materials better.
4. Short run prints can be better than using mock ups.
5. With faster turn around time than offset prints, you can have just the right amount of prints when you need it.
6. PRINT NOW, THINK LATER. Strike while the iron is hot. Go to your short run printing company now, get a few marketing materials printed, and get started. Waiting too long, you just might discover that the world has passed you by while you were busy thinking.
7. NO SUCH THING AS PERFECT. Most businesses lose their momentum waiting and strategizing for the perfect marketing plan before going to the printers. There can only better strategies or the best one selected from a group of options with the given time and other variables. Do not wait for the “perfect” idea to come. However, this is not to say you should settle for mediocrity either.
8. TIME IS ALWAYS OF THE ESSENCE. Measure just how long it will take you to test and analyze your materials and stick to it. Timing is crucial for business, especially when there are seasonal products and peak times for different industries. When you wait too long, you might just miss out on your big break.
9. LEARN. Anything better than the first two drafts may just be ready for printing. The advantage of short run printing is that it is more tolerant of experimentation. The price of your mistakes is cheap, but the lessons you can learn from them are priceless.
10. REFINE: MAKE YOUR ANALYSIS PRODUCTIVE. It’s one thing to learn from your mistakes, it’s another to use what you learned and put it to good use. Once you have printed and even used your posters, postcards and catalogs, you still have room to study its strengths and weaknesses. You can use these for your next project.
Focus on your needs and know just how short run printing can work to meet your demands and rise up to your expectations. With everything so dynamic, free flowing and fast paced in the competitive arena, it does help to find a printing solution that can do you wonders.
