Marketing books offer traditional ways of doing things so don’t go looking for suggestions and tips on how to succeed in your business in this day and age. You just would not find new ideas and concepts in marketing textbooks used. It will only make things worse by getting you more confused with so many ideals and beliefs that may not really be applicable to booklet printing companies like yourself.
Traditional marketing textbooks offer ideas that are primarily focused on traditional businesses. They are more appropriate for large corporations or conglomerates rather than small scale businesses. It seems that the writers of these textbooks didn’t think that small businesses can make it big someday. For instance, a cheap booklet printing company has all the potential to become a major player in the booklet printing industry.
This is not to suggest that these textbooks, which were written for academic discussions or purposes, are useless. Far from that. These books offer theories and principles which were based on solid research from big corporations. Again, this is not to suggest that despite its focus on large companies, these textbooks do not offer any learning for small to medium sized companies. Again, far from that. The theories and principles are very much applicable to medium sized booklet printing company as they are to large ones.
There are however, conventional marketing strategies that cannot be found in these textbooks. Remember the P’s in the succeeding paragraphs and these will help you focus to become more successful:
Product. There is nothing that can substitute a good offer. A good product can compete with any market. Regardless of the price or package, a good product will be accepted by your target clients. Remember the old hotdog stand in the corner which offers the best beef hotdogs? They offer nothing, no frills, no thrills hotdog yet, a queue is always visible.
Price. Offer cheap booklet printing and you can be sure that people will consider your offer. Price is a determining factor for offerings that are almost equal.
Promotion. A good offering, a nice product, and an irresistible pricing scheme will not do your business any good if you don’t tell people about it. To inform potential customers or clients about your excellent service or product and your cheap booklet printing, you need a professionally designed promotional campaign.
Remember these three most important P’s and even if you have not had the chance to enter any university or college for marketing courses, you would surely have a good business. These are simple principles that most marketing expert would scoff at; but little do they know that a business run on the simplest terms is a sound one.
