Business cards’ design are meant to capture the interest of the recipient. Ideally too, business cards must embody your profession or your company and the values you uphold.

To this, there are varying business card designs that you can see in the market. There are trendy pieces which imitate all the rage in fashion, there are classic business cards, there professional business cards and in contrast, there are young, hip and sassy business cards.

• Yes, it seems you can do anything and everything you want with your business cards design. You can access the almost limitless array of colors – from pastels, to earth tones, to neons and everything in between – and use them.

• Let us not forget too about the various patterns there are, which is as diverse and plentiful as the range of colors.

There are stripes and plaids, polka dots and checkers, and other ornate assortment of patterns which definitely gives you an alternative to a plain background.

Whatever your design maybe, whatever the colors or patterns, images or texts you use, make sure that all the elements you choose go together well.

After all, you wouldn’t want your business card to look like a hodgepodge of things that do not exactly match, unless of course, that is your style. On the other hand, style should reflect you and translate what you do. That is what an effective design should achieve.

In business card design, it is good to note several principles that have been used time and again in the wide variety of the arts. It will help you drive towards that vision you want without too much difficulty.

Organic Unity is the almost seamless quality at how everything in your design effortlessly merge. There is consistency that can be seen from the designs or images you chose to the manner on how your texts are written.

Balance is created when the details of your designed are situated at the right places. Such that an overpowering image in one corner can be counter balanced by another image on the opposite side.

Balance is important because it allows the recipient to get a full view of the business card without distracting elements that can be unpleasant. Such that, you can give focus or attention to your name and contact details, more than the images on your business cards.

Style as mentioned earlier on, should readily reflect what your profession is or the industry you are working for. Style speak in a manner that doesn’t exactly shout. It is somewhat subtle. Yet, it has the ability to catch the attention of your recipient and give a lasting impression.

Substance naturally comes along with style. Substance here can pertain to what your business card communicates. Unconsciously your design can convey impressions of professionalism, credibility and trust.

Also, the texts which you have consciously decided to put on your business cards can indicate substance or lack of it. Use the most appropriate ways to describe you, your profession or position, regardless if you are a freelance worker or not.

You simply cannot type your name and then directly underneath, it says Head Honcho. If you were in the corporate world, this would surely be frowned upon or laughed at. This title, Head Honcho, perhaps, may only be permissible if you were an eccentric millionaire.

Printing Company knows just how to turn your business card into a professional looking one. Or if you were in a different market, a spanking business card. Choose a printer that would accommodate your business cards design and printing needs.

Service and quality are the most important things you should look for. Cost can come in second. Why you ask? For all it’s worth, the rate of quality of their service and product may even be of more value than your money.

And so, using these ideas, plan out your business card well. Then, find the perfect mate to your business cards design by sourcing out only the best business card printing company.
