You’ve heard all about those marketing schemes. You may even be ready to take the plunge into postcard mailing. You have the budget. You have the list of people whom you want to receive the cards. You go online and found the right printing company.

You’re now faced with the biggest problem of all. What are you going to put on those cards? What words are going to fit right? What designs will represent you well to the market? And what approach is going to lure clients to try you out?

Do not drop the idea of postcard mailing just because it seems hard to do. First and foremost, look around you. Find something about your products that is not so common with any other products available in the market. List all your ideas.

Unique Selling Point
It doesn’t matter whether you’re new in the field or you are an established company. To be able to market your business better, you got to have a USP or your unique selling point.

You should be able to tell people what makes you stand out above the rest. You should be able to explain to them why they should choose you over your competitors.

• Cheap price
Your USP should not be solely about the price. Although it helps that you offer your products at affordable prices, your customers will not buy things because they were marketed as cheap.

Every business defines cheap in a variety of ways. And the customers are already used to that word. They need products and services that are worth what they’re paying for.

• Quality service
This is a good characteristic of a business but this is not unique. Your customers must be the one to judge if you are really able to give quality service once they’ve tried you out. So you need to get them first to go to you and avail your products.

To find out what’s unique about your business, you must study your competitors. Veer away from their types of promos. Be different. You’ll find your own followers in no time.

If you still can’t determine your USP, you’ll find that out soon. You can do this by asking clients for feedback after they have availed your products or services. You can provide a form that they can fill out or you can also ask them personally.

You need to know why they chose you over your competitors. Through this, you’ll be able to establish your USP as time goes by.

The thing that you have to remember on this one is that you have to stand out. You have to attract by being different. You need to get people’s attention and make them want to choose you over your competitors.

Here are some samples of USPs:

• Fastest delivery time.
• We deliver even on holidays.
• Free shipping for $100 and up purchases.
• Free software upgrade for two years.

Once you’ve determined your company’s USP, take advantage of that and use it when you avail of postcard mailing services. Tell people directly why they should choose you. Stand out from the rest and show those customers that you are the best.
