Wholesale prints are not only affordable, they are also easily produced. That’s why many entrepreneurs are cashing in on this big business opportunity. Businessmen contract wholesale printers to do certain job orders and then charge their clients at retail prices.
However, since most people today are not well informed about the printing process used by wholesale prints, they succumb to several myths that tend to destroy the reputation of wholesale prints. These myths deprive people of the different advantages that they can have when availing of wholesale prints. Here are some of the more common myths that people know and what’s the real score behind them.
Wholesale Printing Myth Number 1: Wholesale prints are affordable because they are of low quality
Most people think along the lines of: “the more affordable the price of a product, the less quality it is.” If the product has a low price, it is almost always assumed that the production process of the product is not done professionally or the materials used are of cheap quality. That is not the case in wholesale printers. They consistently produce high quality prints that meet and even exceed customer expectations.
- Gang run printing is the main reason why wholesale prints are pegged at a very affordable price. It is a printing process that uses different designs and lays them out in a single plate. This lowers the cost of printing since only one plate is used in order to create different types of design.
- Also, the plates do not come in direct contact with the substrate that you use allowing your plates to have a long shelf life. Any additional orders will have a considerable decline in the printing cost since the plate production has already been covered.
Wholesale Printing Myth Number 2: Digital printing produces more quality prints than wholesale printing
When you fold or crumple a picture or a poster that was printed on a digital printer, you will notice that some of the ink peels off from the paper. Such thing like this will not happen in offset printing.
- Printing through the digital process involves spraying ink on top of the paper. The main problem with this method is that the bond between the paper and ink is not that strong as evidenced by the ink easily chipping off the substrate.
- On the other hand, offset printers produce colors through rollers that stamp the colors in place, one layer after another – developing a stronger bond between the paper and the ink.
- Also, this process makes offset printing consistent with the products it prints. rest assured that none of your prints are less colorful than others. All images printed have the same consistency and sharpness.
Wholesale Printing Myth Number 3: Digital printing is faster than wholesale printing
Offset printing needs to produce plates before printing unlike in digital printing where you can print directly so this is not a myth right?
It depends.
While it is true that plating might be involved, modern technology has made the long process of plate production shorter. However, digital printers do beat offset when it comes to short run printing. However, offset trumps digital when it comes to printing in bulk. With impression speeds reaching up to 30,000 copies per minute, it blows off digital printing by a mile.
