Basic Information:
• Greeting cards is made of a half-fold thick paper sheet that forms four pages. This is inserted into an envelope and is mailed to the addressee.
Direct-Mail Delivery
• When used for direct-mail-marketing. You can have them delivered directly to the client’s mailboxes through an arrangement with the postal service for bulk mail. The mailing service will simply print an indicia (or a code) that will say your postage is paid beforehand in bulk.
Listing
• You may simply supply the mailing list of your client’s database to your printing company for the mailing services. If you want to target a wider audience, in order to promote your company during holidays or other special occasions, you can opt to obtain list from your printing company, specifying your chosen demographic.
• The demographic is your type of client. Mostly, these are the ones who acquire your services or buy your products. It may be because of their occupation, age, activities and such.
Greeting Card Sizes and Envelopes:
• Greeting card is a half-fold sheet that forms four pages (front, back, inside left, inside right) and is inserted into envelopes for mailing. Standard sizes include the 5x7inches that folds into 3.5x5 inches, the 8.5x6 inches that fold into 4.25x6, and lastly the 10x7 inches that fold into 5x7.
• These cards can have a portrait orientation (height is longer than width) or landscape (width is larger than height). Simply put, with the portrait orientation, the design can be laid out upright or vertically. With the landscape orientation, the design can be laid out in a horizontal manner.
• A standard size greeting card would fit snuggly into any standard sized store bought envelope. Envelopes can come in A -6 which is 4 ¾ x 6 ½ and fit for the 4.25x6 greetings cards; and A -7 which is 5 ¼ x 7 ¼ for 5 x7 greeting cards.
• If you plan on custom sizing your greeting card, remember to have an envelope custom sized as well. Also, custom print jobs tend to be more expensive.
Paper and Finishing:
Greeting cards are printed on paper, specifically, the 100 lb. Gloss Cover similar to the regular magazine covers. It is a bright white, smooth stock that is ideal for color and photo reproductions where the base white color of the paper maintains that clarity of the inks or the colors produced.
Colors:
Even though the greeting card is divided into four pages, when it comes to your color specifications a printer would give you a front and back cover in full colors. When it comes to you 4/4 or full color both sides, the greeting card is lavished with colors including the front and back covers, and the inside of the greeting card.
4/1 gives you full color on the front and back covers of your greeting cards, while the inside is printed in black and white. On the other hand, a 4/0 gives you a full color front and back covers while the inside is left blank.
Send out special greeting cards this holiday season or any important occasion. Optimize your greeting card printing and gain advantage for your business. Be one of the majorities whose businesses thrive on repeat sales. Does this with greeting cards personalize your business relations and maintain goodwill relations among your clients.
