Re-designing Full Color Business Cards When planning a marketing campaign, companies often design postcards, brochures, presentation folders, and flyers. One of the most important marketing tools that should be included in a campaign is often overlooked – the business card. A company will usually print full color business cards and then forget to revamp them when planning a new campaign, which can be a fatal mistake. Business cards represent the image of a business. They make a lasting impression on a client long after the conversation is over, which shows the importance of updating full color business cards. A fresh look tells clients that a company likes to move ahead with new technology and ideas. A key to re-design is to not change the entire image but only an aspect. A company may keep the same colors but try a different font. Or they may use the same artwork design but change the color scheme. No matter what a business changes, the image should still be recognizable by clients. Updating the image is not the only possible change. If the old full color business cards were a glossy paper stock, the new cards could be plastic. If the business card contains a photograph, this should be revised continually. Maybe the previous design included a list of services or products on the back. The new business card could be more functional and include a 3-month calendar on the back. A business card should always contain updated contact information. Some companies are tempted to wait until using the outdated business cards before ordering ones containing the new phone numbers or address, but this delay costs a company clients. A major point of business cards is to provide clients with contact information. Nothing spells unprofessional more than outdated information. Companies need to remember the importance of updating business cards, especially when moving ahead with a new campaign. A business does not want to make the mistake of appearing cheap by retaining old business cards when the company image has been re-designed.
