When used in advertisements, postcards designs matter as to how they will be perceived by the people who will get them. Are they going to be effective or will be directly thrown in the trash?
Since you can’t control how people will react to your advertisements, especially when done using the print medium, you have to rely on your gut feel on what will work. Sometimes, it is also advisable to think like a customer, put yourself in their position and see what attracts and what does not from their perspective.
Act on Your Goals
As a business, you always have something to offer to your clients. People will always try to find a way to ignore an ad, especially if that will make them buy what they didn’t plan to acquire. So in planning out your marketing ploys, you should know what your goals are and find ways to implement them fast.
You may have all the right ideas with postcards designs. But your goals should be set beforehand so that you’ll never go wrong once you start implementing your advertising tools. What should be your goals?
1. Get the client’s attention and get it fast. One look at the cards and their interest should be piqued by what they see, or else they will completely forget about the card and also about you.
• The cards should appeal to either their needs or wants.
• Postcards may be entertaining, intellectually stimulation, or emotionally appealing as much as possible.
• Use colors that are suitable with your products but are also appealing to look at.
• The postcards designs may be playful, classic or artistic. The important thing is that it conveys your message right across and direct to the point.
2. Your postcards have to be as convincing as possible. For this, you need to present them in such a way that your customers won’t feel that you are actually selling but that they are missing something if they don’t try what you are offering to them.
• To achieve this, your ads should contain useful information and tips that your recipients can actually agree on.
• Make the ads talk to them. Use their language and address them directly.
• Give them solutions that they need.
• Give them more information or ideas on how to creatively use your products.
3. Make your customer’s decide and help them make the right decision.
• You should include irresistible offers that will be impossible for them to turn down.
• Write clear directions on how they can claim such offers.
• Stay true to your promise and give them exactly that so that you’ll gain their trust and respect.
You will be paying for the postcards to be printed. It is your investment in hopes that you’ll be able to acquire new clients. So have to make the most out of it. It may have a limited space but you should have an unlimited imagination on how to fill the blanks with the right words that will sell.
Make your ads work through the postcards design and content. Set your goals and implement them. Let your marketing ploys lead the customers your way, provide for them and make them stay.
