The ordering process of your sticker prints can be pretty simple. There are plenty of guides or manuals to guide you through it.
There are resources to consult with sticker printing. The world wide web hosts several of these, you can visit sites, read article blogs, online magazines and even printing company sites themselves.
If you are still confused, there is even live support provided by some online companies to ease clients into printing. While you navigate, you can chat with an online printing staff that will tell what clicking this button means and everything else. If you have inquiries or need something cleared up, you can just type and talk to them.
Sticker Printing Project Ideas
However, the most important instructions are sometimes hard to find. These are key ideas on how you can make your sticker printing project more effective even before you start. Take note of the following and see how it could improve you plans or strategies.
1. How do you plan to use stickers?
Stickers can be used in different fashions. If you plan on using them for office use as stationeries, it might be practical to have stickers printed on matte label so you can print over them. You can organize your materials, print and assign names on the stickers so you and your staff can use them more.
2. For utility, on what surfaces do you plan to put them on?
Stickers are printed on different stocks. These stocks are the kind of material your printers use to have your stickers printed. If you need stickers that are water resistant, then you need a 70 lb. High Gloss Paper label stock.
There are other stocks too which differ when it comes to adhesives. A 70 lb. High Gloss Paper label stock is a permanent adhesive so it stays in place. Some sticker adhesives are semi-permanent, while others will only adhere to surfaces once the temperature goes down. Study your options well.
3. Stickers can act as labels too, would you plan on concentrating on your logo or on other details?
Stickers can be printed and designed anyway you want to. Make sure to balance the graphic and the text to suit your purpose. If you were to design a danger label or one that gives out precautions, don’t you need to design stickers with the right color to attract attention, and at the same time, legible text that contains such warnings?
4. Would the size fit?
Your stickers shouldn’t beg the question if the shoe fits. If you plan on using them on a specific material such as bottles, it would be better to know the right dimensions for your stickers and for your bottles. You don’t want to end up with a sticker too small or too big, right?
5. How complex or complicated is your design?
Sticker customization is done by printing companies. However, some people don’t know the extent of the difficulty their design might be asking for. Sometimes, even the simple colors you chose and used for your design might call for Pantone colors.
Pantone colors offer very consistent color quality which cannot be imitated by the inks used by printers. No matter the combination, your colors might come out differently if these are not printed using Pantone. Pantones, also, need to be bought and are quite expensive.
Count these factors when you are designing your stickers. Sticker printing, after all, is not just about completing a print job, it is about coming up with a great quality print that will truly bring you results. Plan you stickers well and print better.
