Wristbands: From Fundraisers to Frat Parties

Most people do not wake up in the middle of the night and wonder whether or not they should buy wristbands for their next charity event or big bash. However, when the time to plan a party does arise, wristbands should be on the list of items to purchase to help distinguish members of the crowd. Think of all the events you have been to that were chaotic and never lived up to the expectations.  Wristbands are inexpensive and can be a key factor to ensuring a successful, well organized event. After all, the main priority when throwing a party or event is that everyone in attendance can easily get in and enjoys themselves.

A charity event is a great place to ID guests with tyvek wristbands. For instance, Kansas City’s annual golf putt putt pub crawl would be a great event to issue participants wristbands at. These golfers travel to participating bars trying to master the eclectic golf hole put together by each establishment. Golfers could simply go to each bar and flash their wristbands to the bouncers to gain entry and obtain drinks from the bartender or wait staff with the easy identification of a wristband. This avoids having to continuously show a ticket or card to prove charity participant status and age. Wristbands are very difficult to lose because they are physically attached to the person, whereas a loose piece of paper would be easy to misplace; especially at a pub crawl! Additionally, Schlitterbahn water parks have wristbands that work similar to a prepaid debit card. “Splash cash” can be added on to each wristband and used to purchase refreshments and merchandise in the park. The wristbands provide the convenience of not having to carry cash, credit or debit cards, or IDs, just like at the pub crawl. Not to mention the wristbands are water proof and there are no worries about losing them because they are securely attached to your wrist.

Nobody likes a party crasher (unless of course you are the party crasher)! Hosting a private event where hundreds of people are supposed to be in attendance can make it difficult to keep track of those invited. Having security wristbands issued at the check-in table can put the kibosh on any freeloaders entering the party. Fraternities and Sororities often have off site parties at bars or similar venues. Individuals in a fraternity or sorority generally range from ages 18 to 22. This means that a certain portion of the group will not be legally able to drink at the venue. Having ID wristbands issued by bouncer at the door can make it easy to differentiate who is of age and who is not. This will give the venue management peace of mind as they are being proactive to not allow underage drinking and minimize liability issues.

Wristbands, although simple, can make events easier and more efficient. Investing just a small monetary amount in wristbands will give you peace of mind during the event and certainly increases the fun factor.
