Wrong Moves You Should Avoid in Marketing Door Hangers

Custom door hangers for marketing are very precise instruments. You do not only print door hangers just to tell people about your services, products or your company. No. You print custom door hangers because you want people to understand correctly and precisely what your company and its products are all about. It is both advertising and public relations tool in one. So you must create door hangers with care and with careful thought.

In this guide, I will teach you a few things to avoid in marketing door hangers. These “wrong moves” have been proven to cause failure in door hanger marketing. Hopefully you can learn from these mistakes and avoid them when your turn comes with color door hangers.

• Printing too much detail – Many failed door hangers do not achieve their goals because they just have too much details in them. Yes, printing too much information in a door hanger can spell disaster for a door hanger printing campaign. This is because people expect a nice and quick message written in door hangers. Anything beyond one and two paragraphs worth of words will usually be bad. People can be bored and impatient quite quickly, especially when unsolicited promotional door hangers are concerned. So keep things nice, simple and quick in terms of door hanger content.

• Looking too cheap – Another big mistake for door hangers is if they look cheap. Cheap looking door hangers with cheap materials and finishes are usually in danger of being thrown unto the trash. If you see a flimsy door hanger that does not really look good, will you keep it and read it? In most cases you will not, and hence the danger of printing cheap door hangers. So printing door hangers in high quality is almost always a must. You must invest in thicker paper materials, better inks and better printing quality. This at least assures you that your door hangers will get a second look because of its quality.

• Forgetting images – Pictures and photographs are a big part in door hangers. If these are not present, a door hanger will look very plain and very boring with only text printed in it. Door hangers like this will not really attract or even engage people, increasing the chances of the door hanger being thrown out. So make sure this does not happen and include some supplementary images and designs to your door hangers.

• Not repeating your distribution – Lastly, the most common mistake that door hanger marketers commit is to not repeat their distribution. They think that once is enough for people to remember your door hanger message. The truth though is that people will normally require 2-3 repeat advertisements before they really remember what the door hangers are all about. So make sure you do repeat distribution schemes to keep reminder your target addresses about you.

So those are the wrong moves you must avoid in a door hanger marketing campaign. Learn from this mistakes so that you can create a better and more effective door hangers. Good luck!
