What happens when a colleague was promoted, transferred or left the organization? Either we welcome a new member is continuing with the remaining members. The person took part with her skills that the rest of the team enjoyed. Or, she fulfilled the role of maintenance or performing the tasks that helped the team to function effectively and now it is a party. Someone else should accomplish these tasks and perform this role. The personality and culture of the group inevitably change when someone leaves or someone else arrives. Whether we like it or not, the new team is now in place and we can not act as if nothing has changed. The learning process teamwork must again. Even though the team remains the same, things are changing around all the same. The economic environment, organizational structure outside of the team, or tasks change. When something significant change in the operational context of the team, the team must respond. In addition, teams whose members do not change, may stagnate. They must learn to renew itself at risk of becoming less and less effective. Learning how to become more effective as a member of a team requires a process of observation, reflection and assessment. This requires that we stop from time to time to reflect on what happened. What went well and why? What has gone wrong and why? Were there any conflicts? How were they handled? Is it could do better? The most important thing is to ask what can we do better to be more effective in the current team, or as a member of a team future ... That is why during the sessions of team building that I organize, I focus on four main elements. The first element to the participants learn not only the tasks that the team is supposed to carry out, but also the process through which it passes in order to accomplish their goal. The second focuses on the process of team building, in other words, the construction of the team: the processes and activities that we can take to strengthen our team. The third element allows participants to learn how to "renew itself." How do we learn and continuously improve the functioning of the team. Finally, even when you work as a team, there is always someone in charge to lead the effort. Even if one wants to believe that all members are equally important in carrying out the project and that the roles are complementary, we have all been in situations where there were "too many chiefs." Knowing how to be a good follower "is as important as how to lead a team in the accomplishment of success!
