The other scientist, H.M. Hare begins his speech with another situation. It is about one lunatic, who was sure that all dons want to kill him. Don is the Professor of the English University. This man had his “blik”. Hare consider this blik as an undefined term, which appears to describe some statement. He supposes the blik to be a strong belief of something. Many could say that this person is deceived. And what it means? He is absolutely sure that all the dons want to kill him, that’s why Hare considers him to have a crazy blik about dons. Our blik is normal. Hare explains that there are two ways of explaining every argument.
To give better realizing of blik, Hare uses another example. When he drives his car, he notices that the movement of the wheel is followed by the alteration in the car direction. He tries to concentrate on the steering failures of the car: defected breaks, problems with the wheels. He said that he has the blik about the steel. He knows for sure that steel is a very strong and it is not so easy to break it. So his blik is normal. He came to the conclusion that the phobias of people depend whether they switch on their bliks or not. For example if he switches on his blik about the car failures, he would never sit inside his car, feeling that it is unsafe.
Hare continues by saying that the understanding of the world depends on the bliks about the world. The observation of what happens in the world can not settle the difference between bliks, as they are strictly individual. No matter what one tries to prove you, to reassure or how much evidence there is to say, that you are wrong, one’s bliks still remain one’s bliks.
