Need a Gift For Your Lady?

Men, step right up! You have a special lady to buy for and you can't decide what to get. As that day gets closer, the pressure builds inside you like a vice making it more difficult for you to make up your mind. You recall the time, when in a panic, you ran into the last open store and all you could find was a gift lower than the old standby, the generic "hope it smells like the real thing" perfume. Maybe it's time you know what your lady really wants.

Most men think that women only want to receive pricey and flashy gifts. Think of an item she'll use in her everyday activities. Now I'm not suggesting you run down to the local convenience store and pick her up a 6 pack of deodorant. However, if you spend a few moments thinking about whom you are trying to please, the ideas will come flooding to you.

What does she like to do for fun? Perhaps a cordless headset for her cell phone or a subscription to an audio book website would be just right.

There are many ladies that love sports as much as men. Is there a sport she really enjoys? A pair of roller blades or a tennis racket might fit the bill.

Is she a corporate woman? Possibly, she could use a new leather briefcase, a mahogany desk set, or a fun new computer gizmo gadget to add to her mounting collection. Truly, keeping her comfortable during her hard day at work is a sure way to keep her happy.

Is she into the latest fashions? Where the wind chills, think about a luxurious plush robe with a pair of fuzzy slippers. And, no matter where you live a stylish watch is always a hit.

Is she a car buff? If you lady tends to be practical, she'll love a car organizer kit that will keep her car tidy. Perhaps a new stereo, amplifier, set of speakers, or an In-Dash DVD player would rev her up.

Sometimes, women aren't practical in the least. Still, the perfect gift for them is easy to find. For the romantic woman in your life, focus your attention on art and culture. For the adventurer in your life, consider such things as the outdoors, leisure, and travel.

Does playing guitar, reading or music fit your lady's style? If that's the case, maybe you could get her a gift that she isn't expecting such as a new guitar that she's wanted to learn, a set of books from her favorite author, or tickets to see her favorite artist in concert. Don't forget, if you get concert tickets, the extra ticket should be for her to take a friend.

Could your adventure loving woman use new ski gloves, a snow board, digital camera with all the accessories, a new rack to hold her bicycle on the car, or airfare to an action-packed destination she's been mentioning? Maybe a mapping system for the car, a new scooter to cruise around the neighborhood, a citywide treasure hunt is fun, or even just a week off from some chores that she hates? Don't forget, some of the best gifts are ones that she can't hold in her hands.

Although, ladies have the prerogative to change their minds about what they like, those that love jewelry always love jewelry. A practical woman will always enjoy a practical gift. Romantic women will forever appreciate any gift that expresses your love for her. Your adventurous lady can't wait to leap into something exciting and new. If it's worked in the past, it will work again. When the gift matches the person that it was intended for there it is magical -- and that's what makes it special.

By: voterperson | 17-08-2008
How can Stacy deal with her mom.   Today Stacy (in her 50?s) and her mom (in her 80?s) were going to spend the day together. Her mother was driving today instead of Stacy.   Stacy: "Mom on the way to the places we are going let's stop at the 99 cent store. Yesterday the guy who works there said new things are coming in" Mom: ?Ok? then changed her mind and said. ?No I am not going. I am not taking the side roads I am going on the highway. . No, I don?t have to do what you want? Stacy: ?It will be just for five minutes and I will be right out. You can sit in the car? Mom: ?I am not sitting in the car while you run it. Don?t ruin my day. .? Stacy: ?Then I will go later when we come home from spending the day? Mom: ?No you are not going later, you don?t have to go you are getting obsessive with it. You are getting obsessive with the 99 cent store. It isn?t that you have nothing to wear. I am not making dinner for you? Stacy: ?Mom do you realize you are acting like a child? Mom: ?May be I am a child but I am not taking you. And I am not making you dinner, Buy your own? Stacy: ?Take me home. I don?t need this. It would have taken five minutes and then we would have had a great day but instead you have to pick a fight. You are very controlling? Stacy?s mom did take her home. Stacy went her way and her mom went on her own as well.

Alcohol Use, Abuse, Dependence, and Addiction
By: Mary Barnes | 05/10/2008
There are many types of alcohol consumption ranging from the healthy to the deadly. Some people of the prohibitionist persuasion will ague that any use is destructive, but neither medical research nor personal experience supports that conclusion. Unhappily, most "screening" protocols are heavily weighted towards a diagnosis of addiction justifying punitive treatment approaches and "abstinence only" outcomes

No single idea keeps people from seeking help with their alcohol related problems as much as the mistaken belief that alcohol abuse, dependence, and addiction are always the symptoms of an actual "disease" and that there is only one "cure."
