Of late the governments of different countries, international organizations and the related authorities have come together in the campaign against smoking. Everyone is giving a helping hand in making our societies more and more smoke free. These attempts are particularly being made in order to safeguard people from the bane of passive smoking and in order to keep the environment smoke free. But the road to a smoke free community is not that smooth.

Recently the government of Australia declared that in the hotels and the restaurants smoking won't be allowed in places where the staffs serve. This is a stern measure as the government of Australia has gone a step further in their efforts to protect the people from passive smoking. Though majority of the people are happy with the developments there are some who argue that this step would affect the business of the hotels. In addition this would take the smokers out into the open where there are no staffs. This would further lead to increase in noise pollution and litter.

A member of the Australian Hotels Association (AHA) echoes his reactions by stating that the decision has gone a bit too far. This will affect the business and in addition it would be hard to press the staff members and the others who smoke within to give up. The same is also applicable in case of visitors.

However, a rule is a rule. Everyone is equal in the eyes of a rule and it has to be followed by one and all. Therefore, the owners of the pubs, clubs, hotels, and restaurants have pleaded for a time period of three years before they can bring the law into effect. They have asked for time in order to make their customers and their staff understand the importance of the rule. Thus Australia will have its pubs, clubs, and restaurants smoke free by the year 2009.

Going by the kind of addiction smoking is these kinds of rules though seem to be harsh and stern are quite effective in not just keeping people from passive smoking effects but also from active smoking. These rules help in cutting down on the amount of fags a person take. For giving up permanently will power and determination is very necessary. The anti smoking drugs are only aids that help you in achieving this noble task. If you leave the entire job on quit smoking drug Chantix, then I am afraid that you won't find much improvement but if your determination is intact, you will see the benefits yourself.
