Quitting smoking isn't the most difficult thing that you can do, but many people seem to think it is because they go about it all the wrong way.
The biggest problem with most peoples' quit smoking attempts is that they aren't prepared when they try to quit. As a result, you wind up believing that you're giving up something by quitting smoking. Nothing could be further from the truth: quitting smoking has no drawbacks, whatsoever.
At this point, you believe that it has drawbacks. You think that smoking gives you all kinds of good feelings, but the reality is quite different. Smoking is similar to putting on tight shoes just to take them off: when you light up, you're merely temporarily reducing the bad feelings that cigarettes give you. As soon as you put that cigarette out and nicotine levels start to drop in your body, you feel bad...a feeling that is reversed by lighting up again.
However, because your body builds up natural tolerance to nicotine, over time that feeling of emptiness isn't satisfied by just one cigarette, so you end up chain smoking. Naturally, this causes you to need more cigarettes to remove that emptiness, and the cycle continues to get worse and worse.
When you do quit, though, it only takes about three days for that empty feeling to go away, and you'll feel better than you ever had as a smoker, because you won't constantly feel those low points during the day from the cravings for cigarettes, as well as all of the other benefits that come from having a proper amount of oxygen supplied to your brain.
