Be Friendly With Real Estate Lenders

Be Friends With Your Lender

In these trying times no one in the nation is even being considered for a loan without vigorous delves into their past, present and future financial situation, credit score, and without providing a multitude of documents, W2’s, proof of employment, blood samples and their first born child! (Ok so slightly over exaggerated…but you get the picture) This is good news!

When you speak with a lender, look at him as a ‘financial consultant’. Ask questions, what loans are out there, what ones can I qualify for, why don’t I qualify for others, is there certain zip codes that qualify for better loans than other zip codes…and why. If you have a good relationship with your lender, it will stand you in good stead for the home buying process. The more wrinkles that are ironed out at the beginning, the less chance of coming across problems later in the process.

If you do not use your own personal lender (bank), ask your REALTOR to refer you to someone whom they have worked with in the past and who they trust to give you the best deal…for you!

Remember – Find a reputable, hard working lender that knows the local area, and when he asks you for your first born…don’t complain…its all in the same of safe lending!

The Wrong Real Estate Questions

By: Brad Furlott | 11/08/2009 | Real Estate
I often get the same three questions, week in and week out, from different buyers. These are typically asked by newer investors for investment properties, but there are also some buyers that ask these questions for residential homes. They are: Why is the vendor selling? Is the vendor motivated? What was the price the vendor paid for the property?

Real Estate Representation

By: Brad Furlott | 11/08/2009 | Real Estate
When buying a home you have the opportunity to have a Realtor work with you in your search and help you every step of the way, and almost always at no additional cost to you. Why then do some people not take advantage of this option? I think it goes to a basic misunderstanding of the process, or potentially because some people think they can get a bargain if they work with the realtor representing the real estate listing.
