Dixon Branch / Lake Highlands Neighborhood

Dixon Branch is an area in the Dallas neighborhood of Lake Highlands. Famed for the areas parks and revitalization, Lake Highlands is a neighborhood on the move. Their community website lists the neighborhoods goals and achievements, committees and new business successes that have moved into the area. They also list neighborhood improvement programs by location within the Lake Highlands area and more.
Lake Highlands lies north of White Rock Lake and the area known as Dixon Branch is in the southern portion of Lake Highlands. It consists of several neighborhoods centered on Lochwood Park. The area is beautiful, filled with trees and the laughter of children and families as they enjoy the outdoors in their park.
The neighborhood of Lake Highlands offers a myriad of parks, with over 875 acres of parkland, 26 miles of hiking/biking trails and more traditional sports fields, like baseball, soccer and more. Arbor Park, Audelia Park, B.B. Owen Park, Fair Oaks Park and many, many more round out the list of parks allowing Lake Highlands residents to live and play in the beautiful natural setting the neighborhood is famed for.
Lake Highlands is also the largest neighborhood of Dallas that is not served by the Dallas Independent School District. Lake Highlands is served by the Richardson Independent School District and has two high schools, two junior highs and fourteen elementary schools. The school district is dedicated to providing the children of Lake Highlands with the best educational opportunities available and is one of the best school districts in Texas. There are also two colleges located in Lake Highlands for higher education, Richardson College and Dallas County Community College.
For recreation and entertainment, the residents of Lake Highlands are extremely close to everything Dallas has to offer. Located in the northeastern area of Dallas, Lake Highlands is only minutes away from everything the city has to offer, from the Dallas Cowboys football games to Major League Soccer games, Six Flags over Texas and Six Flags Hurricane Harbor. The residents have access to the city's immense nightlife and art scene as well, though Lake Highlands boasts a developed nightlife of its own. Lake Highlands is famed for its dedication to families and community.
Lake Highlands is one of the most attractive neighborhoods in Dallas and Dixon Branch is one of the best areas within Lake Highlands.
