Some people just can't get enough of golf. So much so, that they even want to live on a golf course. If you're a non-golfer, you may think this sounds crazy. If so, go and check some of these places out. You will soon realize that all of these houses are in settings that are idyllic for anyone, not just golfers.
Who wouldn't want to live in a desert oasis backed by a view of mountains and surrounded by manicured lawns? Some of the golfing residences come complete with an urban village that has shops and a town square! Others offer tree lined swimming pools, cascading waterfalls, large lakes, lush tropical beauty or spas - as well as world class golf!
You can choose from more intimate golf resorts to large ones offering thousands of acres of exclusive scenery, first class tennis courts, gourmet cuisine or a choice of several clubhouses. One resort offers a whopping eleven restaurants to choose from. Just to make sure you do not get bored, one golfing resort community even offers a choice of four different golf courses.
There are equally as many great choices of homes, from single family homes to luxurious pads custom styled by architects. There are also condominiums and town homes available. Prices can range from $400k to $2,000,000.
Of course, living on a golf course does not mean you are restricted to that area; you can still feel free to try out other courses. Scottsdale is continually ranked as one of the premier golf destinations in the world. Many golf courses in Scottsdale are world class standard and attract all the famous International golfers to their competitions.
One of the competitions that Scottsdale hosts, the FBR Open Golf Tournament, is the best attended event on the PGA tour. This is held at the Tournament Players Club, which also happens to be a resort community. The Phoenix Open is the largest spectator golf event on the world.
Needless to say, with all the spectators flooding the area, and all the world class golfing heroes here, there is world class shopping to go with it. There is also world class entertainment, art festivals, tip-top restaurants, bars, night clubs, art galleries, and endless recreational choices.
With warm days and comfortably cool nights, the dry climate is perfect for almost anything you choose to do. In summer, temperatures average around eighty degrees Fahrenheit and in winter they average around 65 degrees Fahrenheit. However, extremes have been recorded in both seasons. The climate is a dry one, meaning that creaking lungs and aching bones will suddenly feel younger here!
Scottsdale is a progressive city, being the first one in America to restrict the size of billboard advertisements, for which the city was taken to the US Supreme Court. They won their case and other cities followed. It was also the first city to develop the robot arm garbage truck which enabled the driver of the garbage truck to sit in an air-conditioned cab and keep nice and clean!
However, if your golf addict partner is trying to persuade you to invest in a golfing resort community home, there is something else you may want to know. Of all of the cities in America, Scottsdale has the largest number per capita of resort spas. Now that is worth throwing into the equation!
