Have many religious beliefs in it. In fact all the names have great stories behind its derivation…………. India – the state of variant cultures and many religions have around 32 states in today’s date……….. Hearing stories is one of my passions since childhood and when it has some history involved in it, I take double interest…..WHY???? Of course, that could help me in winning Kaun Banega Karorpati!!!!!!!!????????? While surfing the magazine once while having the tea in the evening, I saw a beautiful photograph of some lake in one of the magazines and got to know the name of the lake as Naini Jheel. Then suddenly great interest was developed in me and was feeling restless to know about the place because of its beauty which was unexplainable at that time. And proceeding further I got to know that:-  NAINITAL – is a small hill station of Uttranchal (Uttrakhand) with endless beauty and peace. The story behind the name is, “According to an ancient belief, Nainital was the site where one of Parvati’s eyes fell. When Parvati, the wife of Lord Shiva, the Hindu Destroyer of the Universe, died, Shiva was filled with grief and carried her corpse wherever he went. Parts of Parvati’s body fell on Earth indifferent parts of India, and her eye fell in Nainital, forming a large crater that became Naini Lake. In fact, Naini Lake derives its name from the Hindi word, naina, which means ‘eye’. We can say that Nainital is the eye of the country and as we all know that Eyes are the most attractive part of the body. It is the eyes which explain the person at one go. The more beautiful the eye is the less you will have to speak.  Similarly, Nainital do not speak for its beauty but the quietness says million words itself……… The mountains touching the clouds……… the peaks covered with white snow…………the green surrounding……… the beautiful flowers showing all colours of life…………the music made by the chilled storms…….. The touch of the cold water of the lakes….. The flow of clean and white springs and ………………… I can not say more………Many things are there which deserves no words at all. Nainital is one of that blessed cities that has everything beautiful and unexplainable. Every one of us wants to live in a house in some quite place……yah ……. At least I do…….
