Sicamous Real Estate Is An Investment In Pleasure

The name Sicamous derives from a Native American word meaning "narrow" or "squeezed in the middle." That’s an apt description for the location of this beautiful spot, located between two natural lakes, the Mara and the Schuswap.

Although the town of Sicamous was not incorporated until 1989, Sicamous real estate in both the town and the area around it has attracted visitors for centuries, and for good reason. Fertile soil attracted some of the first settlers, who farmed the area and fished the lakes.

After gold was discovered on the Columbia, the area played host to the many settlers who came to the area to find their fortunes. But the interest in Sicamous real estate really took off after the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was laid in 1885.

Today, if you own Sicamous real estate, you're privy to gold of another kind. As residents can attest, the Sicamous area is well known for its golden recreational opportunities.

Sicamous real estate owners have the gift of year-round sports and recreational venues that span a wide range of activities, as well as all four seasons.

Fishing, hiking, camping, boating, water skiing and other summer sports thrive here.

But unlike some areas noted for their summer sports, when autumn leaves begin to fall, there’s no need to leave the Sicamous area. As a Sicamous real estate owner, you can stay to watch the mountains come alive with beautiful hues of golds, reds, and oranges.

And then the snows. Those who own Sicamous real estate understand why the area is so highly regarded for its well managed snowmobiling trails, that stretch across the mountains, offering pleasure to novice snowmobilers, as well as challenges to even the most expert.

And Sicamous real estate is an investment that can't jelp but appreciate over time, as more and more people flock to the aea to experience all the benefits of small-town life amid natural beauty.
