A significant proportion of the Soca Valley is part of the protected Triglavski Narodni Park (Triglav National Park), the largest in Slovenia.
The two major towns in the upper valley are Kobarid and Bovec and both are becoming more popular with property buyers. Other towns seeking a lot of foreign buying are Tolmin, and Nova Gorica.
The Soca valley is great for fly-fishing and fishing for the indigenous marble trout is extremely popular, as are a variety of other sports including:

Kobarid is the town where you can learn about the history of the Soca valley. The region is famous from the First World War where the Soca front was the location of one of the most vicious and bloody mountain conflicts ever fought. Ernest Hemingway wrote about the Soca valley in great detail in his well known book "A Farewell to Arms".
With its beauty, ease of access, variety of outdoor sports and convenient location to explore nearby regions and towns of Slovenia as well as other countries such as Italy tourist numbers are growing.
Slovenia is making great efforts to promote itself as a holiday destination and numbers are rising year on year with the Soca valley taking a significant proportion.
This is of course seeing a surge of people buying Soca Valley property to cater for this influx
