Aside from being a little smaller than the average American house, Philippine houses are often built close to each other because of familial ties. Since most Filipinos live near their relatives (parents or siblings), it is only logical to expect their houses to not stray far from one another. In fact, most of the time, Filipinos build homes within the same subdivision or barangay as their parents or siblings.
