Vegetarian Weight Loss

Be careful, eating the wrong types of vegetarian diets can actually lead you to gain more weight, and if you think switching to a vegetarian diet will guarantee weight loss, think again!

However, as a rule, vegetarians and vegans are generally not overweight! And you may have greater success at losing weight by opting for a vegetarian diet compared to non vegetarian.

Remember the basic of maintaining and achieving a healthy weight is same for everyone. That is to eat a healthy diet, balance calories and exercise more.

Some of my Vegetarians friends make very poor vegetarian food choices and that contribute to them gaining lots of weight. My observation concluded that they took large portions of high-fat, high-calorie foods or foods with little or no nutritional value. Especially when they were traveling, and vegetarian food can be difficult to find, so they replaced their meals with chips, cookies, power bars, and candy… vegetarian diet does not mean you have a license to eat freely the sugary foods as you wish. The key is a well pan diets with variety.

So can vegetarian diet really help to lose weight?  The trick is to plan your meals in advance, ensuring they include a good variety of fruit, vegetables and grains. In some weight loss studies, a well planned vegetarian or vegan diets lost more weight than those not on vegetarian diets.

Go for vegetarians’ diets that are high in carbohydrates and dietary fiber and lower in calories, protein, total fat, cholesterol, and saturated fat. So, if you are serious about losing weight with vegetarian diets, then you really ought to plan your meals in advance.

Vegetarian diet tends to be low in fat and cholesterol and with the healthy serving of fruits and vegetables, along with whole grains; you will lose pounds and inches.

So a well plan vegetarian diet that largely consists of fruits and vegetables generally has fewer calories is the way.  Remember, the key to a successful vegetarian weight loss is planning.
