Almost every other sector in the world is facing the heat of the recession but it seems healthcare industry is the only field that has been able to stay out of its ill effect. Currently this industry is witnessing a major demand and that is why various hospitals are looking for physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and doctors. There is also a huge demand for people to take care of the non-medical responsibilities that include security, administration, and IT.
In fact in America there is one hospital that has recently recruited about 50 employees. The reason behind this high almost desperate demand is that a majority of workers both medical and non-medical are about to retire. And hospitals are trying their level best in order to fill up those vacated posts.
This is a quite common scenario in America where this year till May the healthcare industry has recruited about 23, 500 employees. Last year that was in 2008 the same sector has recruited about 309, 800 people. Such large recruitment shows the kind of urgency this industry has.
The urgency is trying to stop a crisis that is also present in various European nations as well as in the US. There are not enough people who have the right kind of education to do the required medial jobs. This is also becoming a big headache for many hospitals. The institutions too are ruing the lack of enough good teachers who would teach and encourage students to take up the profession of a medical staff.
People are also getting recruited in the departments that look after the back office job. There are also new hiring in order to take care of the outpatients. This need has given rise to another trend. Nowadays people are looking for healthcare related jobs. This is because of the sacking that is so rampant in other sectors.
An idea of this demand can be got from the number of application that one hospital in Lang Land Island has received in 2008. That year the hospital got at least 85, 000 applications. They were contesting for about 3,500 positions.
It seems that it is the healthcare staffing sector that has been able to create the maximum number of staffing opportunities.
