Orienting the Real Estate Agent Recruits

When the global economic crisis hit, the real estate industry was one of the worse affected.  It got a direct hit and almost immediately slumped to the ground.  More than a year after the initial debacle, and after fund infusions from the Government, the property market is beginning to show some growth and buyers are coming out of their protective shells.  Looking at today’s scenario, there are more than enough buyers out there. This, in turn, produces the robust demand for real estate especially in the residential sector, not just business property and office spaces.

Since the Government’s grants to first-time homeowners, many people bought houses of their own and more are still planning to purchase one.  For those who had trouble paying their mortgages in the past months, they were given alternatives such as deferred payments or presented other financial assistance sources such as fast cash loans.  Many are also holding on to their mortgages and doing everything they can to keep up with the payments.  When budget is tight, some resort to taking out payday advances to make ends meet as well as pay the dues.  But overall, both the real estate business and the clients are ready to do business in buying property and houses.

For this reason, new real estate agents should be given the proper attitude and training in dealing with their valued clients.  For the new agents, they should realize that achieving financial security in the business is through working harder and smarter, particularly during these financially hard times.  It would be an economic and social disaster if real estate agents miss these precious opportunities to make a good sale.

Even though, these agents work for certain companies, and they are not the owners of it, they should still see their job as his or her own business.  The synergy to make the business work and earn profits must be there and should be cultivated all the time.  Since most real estate agents work on commission basis, real estate companies should also treat them as partners.  This, in turn, would create an entrepreneurial mindset for real estate agents.  As such, they can put in as many hours in the business as they like, because this is for their own benefit and profit.

On the other hand, competition is good, particularly during these times.  However, the competitive spirit can bring out not only the best but also the worst in people.  It should be emphasized to new recruits that competition should be tempered with fairness and respect when dealing with their fellow agents, especially from different property companies.

By: Johan Kriegbaum | 18/11/2009 | Wellness
There was once a feature article about “sick” gems being cured. The feature said that at a depth of eighty feet below the surface of the clear, blue waters of the Adriatic Sea is a cage. This unusual cage was made by experienced divers in the face of the rock that formed the cliff near the Castle of Miramar. Inside that almost natural cage are some of the most magnificent pearls in the world, belonging to the Archduchess Rainier.

By: Johan Kriegbaum | 14/11/2009 | Health
Here is a pre-recession, pre-cars-for-clunkers-government-stimulus-program joke about Detroit as the US city of car makers: “Detroit is one city that knows how to deal with air pollution. It pumps its air into the tires of the cars it manufactures and quietly ships it out of town.” Air pollution is a deadly reality in almost every city around the world.

Heads Up on Customers Habits

By: Johan Kriegbaum | 09/11/2009 | Hobbies
A wise man said, “Habit is a cable. We weave a thread of it every day until it becomes so strong we cannot break it.” The same is true in marketing and selling scenarios. Small business owners and entrepreneurs know after several months of going into business that their regular customers and clients are on autopilot. When they purchase the same items many times, it becomes a habit for them to pick it up.

Understanding Savings and Investments

By: Johan Kriegbaum | 27/10/2009 | Investing
At twenty, many think they can save the world. At thirty, people are happy if they can save part of their salary. The common excuse why people don’t save as regularly as they should is they don’t have enough money in the first place. They complain that their salaries or earnings are hardly enough to cover their daily expenses, let alone save some of their money.
