Small Businesses at Highest Risk of Legal Action

Small Businesses hold the highest risk of facing extortionate and potentially devastating legal action due to poorly prepared legal documentation, warn lawyers at Net Lawman.

After revelations from business insurer Hiscox that nearly two thirds of smaller businesses are failing to adequately protect themselves against possible employee legal action, Net Lawman are advising small businesses to review their legal documentation to ensure that it is totally fit for purpose.

Often, small business owners are reluctant to enlist the help of a solicitor to develop their legal documentation in the early stages of the business due to high costs. In fact, a recent survey by the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) revealed that nearly 80% of small businesses deal with all employment paperwork without any external help or advice and that a third didn’t taken on new staff because they were concerned over the complexity of employment law.

In an attempt to soften the blow for small businesses and to assist them in ensuring they have the appropriate employment documentation and policies in place, Net Lawman are introducing a vast array of new employment related documents available through their online legal documents website http://www.netlawman.co.uk?sc=582 .

“Online documents from a trusted source is by far the most cost effective and efficient way for small businesses to obtain up to date legal documentation, however it is important to ensure that any documents purchased are completely fit for purpose” explains Miriam Taylor of Net Lawman.

When evaluating an appropriate online provider, Taylor recommends that business owners ensure that the documents obtained are written in plain English and are not bombarded with complex legal jargon which could result in the business owner missing something vital, leaving them vulnerable to legal action in the future,

Net Lawman are highly acclaimed providers of a wide range of legal documents and offer several comprehensive employment packages which include a selection of employment contracts and well as recruitment, grievance, disciplinary and redundancy documents.
