Can Secret Relationships Work

Secret relationships are made for those who generally are looking for a short term relationship in which they can amuse themselves to the maximum while the affair lasts.  Those in a secret relationship seem to you as if they know something and you don’t.

In life you often hear of secret relationships but they don’t usually last for a long time.  The couple is under enormous pressure to maintain the secret; it is perhaps the reason why they do bare the test of time.

It is difficult to carry on for long without talking of the liaison.  If it wasn’t secret you would be talking quite naturally about it, so not discussing it becomes more and more stressful as the relationship continue.

In a secret relationship you  can’t talk about it for fear that those who know you will be listening.  You are perhaps someone who is excited by the tension which you find yourself in.  Is it a game for you to play to see how long the affair continues?  Or is it by bad luck that you find yourself in this situation and you don’t another way out than to continue while it lasts.

Don’t forget that the other half of the relationship is under the same tension as you; so in fact the strain is doubled.

You can never go out together for fear of being seen together by friends.  You have to be so careful in everything you do to avoid being seen together by your friends.  So you must have a good reason why you seek to keep the relationship secret. Perhaps a casual relationship has grown into a deep affair and, for some reason, you don’t want your friends to know.  Certainly, should you break up later, your friends will not know what has happened.

Concerning affairs between colleagues at work, it is often better that the others around you do not know what is happening.  There are some cases at work where relationships are frowned up on or even forbidden.  In any case, it is usually preferable that your work colleagues don’t know about your relationship.

To be in a secret relationship you are usually there for the dare; you make the best of things while they last and the knowledge that it can finish in a moment.  All this helps keep up the adrenalin, on which we all survive to differing degrees. .  It is not a healthy relationship considering matters on a long term basis, as you know that a secret relationship can be ended at any moment often by events outside your control.

Where this sort of relationship is for you, live for today and not for tomorrow, as it is likely not going to last very long.
