In your past relationships with men, you've probably noticed that they exhibit certain common tendencies when they start withdrawing from the relationship. They suddenly stop getting in touch, they spend more time with their friends than with you, they suddenly start seeing and flirting with other women, or he suddenly says that he's not ready to commit. It's infuriating, isn't it?
But that's not the point of this article. As the relationships go by (ouch), do you sometimes realize that you can actually sense when these signs are about to appear, even before the guy actually starts withdrawing?
That's your intuition at work. It's that little voice inside you that warns you of impending danger in your relationship, in vague hopes of keeping you from getting hurt again. Your intuition can actually help you sustain a satisfying, long-term relationship with a man, but only if you respond to it the right way. Otherwise, it can make a relationship go on the rocks much more quickly.
Here are a few tips to help you "tune in" to your intuition the right way:
Tip #1: Clear your mind of fear and doubt. Some women act tough and pretend that they're not worried about the relationship, when they're actually scared to death that the relationship is going down. Don't deny or suppress the fears - instead, simply clear your mind and accept the uncertainty as it is. By accepting your fears, you can more easily respond to them in a positive way.
Tip #2: Accept that men don't make sense. Sometimes, they really don't. So don't waste your time trying to figure them out - instead, focus on doing things that actually turn things around for your relationship. Trying to see things through his eyes - that is, seeing things the way he might see them - will help.
Tip #3: Try not to figure everything out. As mentioned before, there are some things you can't figure out when it comes to men, so it's best if you stop trying. Why? Because if you show that you can't understand him, then he'll start showing that he can't understand you - not really the best way to mend a relationship. There are better things to focus your efforts on, like finding simple ways to keep him attracted to you.
Tip #4: Listen to more than just words. Intuition doesn't talk to you in just words - it talks to you more with "gut feelings." Whenever you get the gut feeling that he's losing interest in the relationship, don't mire yourself in an unhappy, unattractive state - instead, use the gut feeling in a constructive way and try to mend the relationship without being fussy.
Tip #5: Practice on the short-term, but think of the long-term. You can hone your intuition skills by practicing it with unimportant, short-term questions in life. For instance, test how intuitive you are when it comes to buying a gift that you're not sure your friend would like, or whether or not to go on vacation for the weekend. That way you'll have a better idea of how accurate your gut feelings really are.
But when it comes to your relationship, you'll have to think of the long-term. Remember that a man's infuriating withdrawal habits are merely symptoms of a more serious underlying problem. If you look beyond the symptoms and find the problem behind them, then you'll be better able to help put your relationship back on track.
