Labors of Love in a Loving Relationship

Being in a relationship is like walking on a tight rope. It is a delicate balancing act. It calls for tact and wisdom. Love needs a conducive environment in order to grow and gain strong roots. If the seed of love is not planted on fertile ground, it will develop weakly, fail to withstand the harsh environment and might die with time. The labors of love ensure growth and continuity. Love needs serious cultivation and constant nurturing in order to grow from strength to strength. The road is not always smooth as many would like to imagine. There are many challenges that face a relationship and they keep cropping up when least expected.

One of the labors of love is perseverance. A relationship has its good and bad times. It is the good times that make people think a relationship is a bed of roses. It has the lean times which calls for perseverance. These is the duration in which many people throw in the towel. A relationship must stand the test of time. Bad times in a relationship should not destroy it. Relationship ought to get strength and nourishment from such challenges. This is through learning from previous challenges. Challenges in a relationship offer important lessons to a couple. Sometimes we have to learn through mistakes and through the hard way. A rough stretch in a relationship is not a sign of crack between the couple. It is normal and it should be taken care of with a lot of precision and with an open mind.

Honesty and communication are virtues that build a loving relationship. A relationship that is full of openness, honesty and truth encounters minimal problems and is bound to remain so even in the foreseeable future. Opening your heart to your partner and expressing how you feel about pertinent issues that might bring division is very healthy. There should be no secrets between two people who love each other. Neither should any cards be played under the table. Lay everything on the table and let your partner know your intentions. Communication in a relationship is one of the key factors in the labors of love which is paramount. Things will rarely go wrong.

Are you an accommodating person and can you accommodate the faults, weaknesses and shortcomings of your partner? These are the labors of love which make your partner your friend, confidant and lover. A long journey begins with a signaled step and understanding what kind of person your partner is a step in the right direction. You will be able to deal with him or her in a very amicable manner. Do not try to remind your partner his or her weaknesses neither should you take advantage of them. Do not try to look for perfectness in your partner because you will be disappointed i assure you. Instead groom your partner to the type of person that you want. Try to make the best out of your partner. Take your partner as he or she is for a loving and fulfilling relationship.
