This year, if you're looking for a unique Valentine gift that will surprise and delight, gourmet cookie delivery is a sure winner. Valentine's Day is the traditional day for lovers, but it has much broader appeal as well. People also celebrate the spirit of friendship and universal love.
Young kids cut out red construction paper hearts and make Valentines for their Moms and Dads. Older kids trade Valentine stickers with their friends at school. Traditional Valentine's Day cards, candy and flowers are all nice gestures. But when people receive a giant fortune cookie, they get something extra: the element of surprise. Surprise makes their smile a little bigger and their day a little brighter.
Valentine's Day is a great excuse to send your best friend who lives on the opposite side of the country a gourmet surprise package. Or send a fortune cookie Valentine to your mom and dad, with a message inside saying how much you appreciate all their patience while you were growing up.
When you broaden the concept of Valentine's Day to include showing appreciation, it's easy to think of people to add to your gift list: the next-door neighbor who helped you clean out the garage, the cousin you haven't seen in a couple of years, your son or daughter away at college for their first year. And who among them wouldn't smile at receiving a great big chocolate covered fortune cookie on Valentine's Day?
