Second Wedding Etiquette And Ideas For Ceremonies

If you are getting married a second time you will be searching for second wedding etiquette and ideas. The actual wedding ceremony is a very important aspect and you will have to decide if you will go with a traditional, religious or civil service.

The person conducting the ceremony will play a vital role in personalizing the ceremony and he or she will probably follow a predetermined format. But you will be able to put your personal spin on it and make it your own. Therefore one of the first things to do will be to set up an appointment with this person to walk through the various aspects of a wedding ceremony.

You can still have all the necessary elements of a regular wedding, but you can change it so that it totally reflects your personality. Do not be afraid to make subtle changes. It is often refreshing to shake things up a bit and it will keep you guests interested and prevent them from becoming bored.

Here are some steps that make up the wedding ceremony and that you will have to think about:

1. Music

2. Literature, poetry or readings from the Bible

3. The processional or entrance of the bride and groom or bridal party

4. Wedding vows (more about this in the next article)

5. Exchanging of rings or gifts

6. Attendants to sign the marriage register

7. Lighting the unity candle or similar ceremony

8. The first kiss

9. The recessional or leaving the church

Remember that this is only a guide on the etiquette and ideas for second weddings. You can of course adjust this to your liking. It is your wedding and you certainly do not have to repeat what has been done before but there are some elements of etiquette for second weddings that should be applied. It is after all still a ceremony.

You do not have to do what everybody else is doing. Rather make it your own. The most important thing to do to make it your own will be to add personal touches - little nuances that say this is our wedding. Like the vows, the programs and flowers.

Ideas and etiquette for second weddings do not differ all that much from first weddings, but since you are wiser, more mature and have done this before, you will probably enjoy it more as well.
