Selp-help guru used his own tips to find perfect wife

It's no wonder self-help guru Ron Holland has so much faith in his own techniques - they helped him find his true love.

The 60-year-old believes reaching your goals in business or love is like solving a puzzle - crack the code and you can achieve anything.

By the time he met Romanian-born Elisabeth, 39, he had it all worked out. Now they are married with a 10-year-old daughter, Kay.

Ron, who has given motivational talks in Scotland, explained:"I always get asked whether you can apply the techniques to relationships - and, of course, you can."

In his new book, The Eureka! Enigma - 7 Keys To Realizing Your Dreams, Ron explains how he believes the brain is a powerful computer like an Enigma machine.

He says if we can crack the code of our mind, we can achieve our goals.

When Ron was 49, he decided he wanted to marry and start a family - so he thought of exactly what type of partner he wanted and even bought a bronze statue of a beautiful woman holding a child to visualize what she might look like.

He said: "I took action by putting in loads of adverts in lonely hearts columns. I had loads of responses, but in the end I was sitting in a cafe and there was a beautiful young lady across the room.

"We smiled at each other and got chatting.We started going out and 18 months later we got married and had a child. She even looks like the bronze statue - it's incredible."

Here Ron tells how to use the seven keys to find love.

1. Cracking the code.

Come up with your own goal - and in love it's deciding what type of person you want.

Ron says: "I'd made up my mind to marry a much younger woman. But there's room for flexibility - especially in love where it's difficult to get one person to be all things."

2 Software for the brain.

Impregnate the neurons in your brain with a picture of what you actually want.

Ron says: "I bought a bronze statue. Other people could cut out pictures and put them in a dream book, but it'll only work if you internalize the images in your brain. Images are there to aid you visualize what you want.When people look at things, they use eyesight, but to make the brain work like a computer you need to use insight - and visualize deeply, so you leave an impression on the neurons."

3 Bespoke input

To get your goals into your brain, spend five minutes every day relaxing and visualizing the future you want.

Ron says: "I cleaned out the wardrobe. I made a place for someone in my life and my home."

4 Gestation and computation

Give your mind time to assimilate the information about your goal.

Ron says: "Your brain will then come up with ideas and lead you to your goal. My goal was a young lady, but because I put that goal into my mindset, I was open and aware and made the move in the coffee bar. Without that, it would have just been another glance over at a stranger. "

5 Colossus output

Get the ideas and the hunches from the mind. Ron says: "I came up with hundreds of ideas of how to get a partner. But in love - like in business - success can come in unexpected ways."

6 Action

Take action to achieve your goal. Ron says: "Looking for love, I placed adverts, told my friends and bought a statue.You need to dress yourself up and empty the wardrobe. Show you mean business."

7 The advanced manual

Visualize everything in advance. Ron says:"What ever your goal or business idea,you've got to visualize it everyday. It was nine months before I met my wife. I met lots of women before hand but didn't click with any of them.Put the work in and don't give up."
