Men and women alike are carried away by passion and emotions on the issue of relationships forgetting that relationships have stages. Check out a jilted lover, he/she would probably tell you he/she was ‘used’.

I think it is important for people to actually see relationship as having stages not as an all encompassing thing. The sooner they understand why they are at a particular stage, what they need to do or feel to move to the next stage, the risk involve in jumping stages and the possibility of coming into any of the stages and going out with “no string attached”, the better.

The stages of relationship which people must try to understand before going into any relationship are:

1.	Friendship stage

2.	Lovers stage

3.	Fiancé stage

4.	Married stage

FRIENDSHIP STAGE: - this is a stage where parties involve just like each other. They want to do things together, share ideas ordinarily and form a force against externalities.

LOVERS STAGE: - this is a higher stage from the friendship stage, where parties involve tends to want to share affections, it’s more than just liking each other at this stage. People are ready to share intimate things with each other at this stage.

FIANCE STAGE: - this is a stage where one could not do without seeing the other. At this stage, no secrets should be left unshared. Then people begin to think about making family together.

MARRIED STAGE: - this stage is the highest stage, parties in such relationship are already one family. Every other aspect of a family could then be considered, like making babies, deep concern for extended families e.t.c.

The sooner the people understand these stages the better and the fact that its possible to just enter into anyone of the stages and come out of it at will but a stronger relationship is well built if it goes through all the first 3 stages and climax at the last stage (married stage).

So, when you are just friends and you expect he/she to take it to the next level (lovers stage) but it did not work out, get a grip of yourself and move on .When you are both in the fiancé stage but he/she could not marry you, move ahead, it’s never the end of the world, it’s not necessary for one to move from one stage to the other.
