Wedding Anniversary Gift Basket-Year 7-9

The celebration of a marriage is a celebration of love and family. When deciding the gift that you wish to give a couple for their anniversary, you may want to create a gift basket. It is a personal and touching gesture that will be much appreciated. For some ideas that you can base your gift basket on, you can incorporate symbolic gifts, flowers, and colors that are associated with specific anniversaries.

The traditional gift for the seventh anniversary is copper, while wool is a traditional as well as a modern gift. Copper symbolizes prosperity, good luck, and good fortune. Wool represents comfort, durability, security, and warmth. The flowers that are associated with this year of marriage are the jack-in-the-pulpit that represents shelter and the camellia that symbolizes good luck, admiration, and perfection. The colors for the seventh anniversary are yellow and off white.

To create a gift basket for the seventh anniversary, you can purchase copper items such as wind chimes, bookends, or a copper name plate with the couple's name engraved on it so that they can attach to their front door. You can also design a wool gift basket by including wool socks, sweaters, gloves, and a wool blanket. You can trim your basket with bright yellow ribbons and bows and scatter camellia blossoms and jack-in-the-pulpit throughout it to add a colorful touch.

The eighth anniversary traditional gifts as well as the contemporary ones are pottery that represents the home and bronze that represents the durability of the union. The flower for this anniversary is the cattail which represents peace and prosperity and the color is also bronze.

To create a gift basket for an eighth anniversary you can include bronze figurines or decorations for the house. There are also bronze doorknobs, name plates, and fireplace utensils available. For a pottery-themed gift basket, you can include several different styles and sizes of pottery items with various designs on them to match the décor in the couple's home. You may also want to include a potted plant. As cattails are usually seen in a country setting, you could use a wicker basket trimmed in earth tones and include a set of country-themed ceramic pots and containers. Stalks of cattails rising out of the back of your basket can add to the effect of your country basket.

Pottery and willow are the traditional gifts for the ninth anniversary. Again, pottery represents the home while the willow can represent flexibility as well as wisdom. Willow is also a material that is used to make baskets so it can also be associated with the home. The contemporary gifts are linens or lace, also representative of the home. The flower for the ninth anniversary is a hollyhock, which symbolizes goodwill and domestic happiness. Terracotta is the color most associated with this anniversary.

To create a traditional gift basket, you could use a willow basket and fill it with a variety of pottery items, such as containers, pots for plants, or ceramic figurines. Curtains, bed sheets, and washcloths and towels are gifts that you could include in a contemporary gift basket. Lace doilies or a lace table cloth can add a touch of elegance to any living room or kitchen. Sprigs of hollyhocks arranged throughout the basket can add color. A country-themed gift basket may also be an appropriate theme for the ninth anniversary gift basket.

These are just a few of the many ways that you can incorporate the flowers, colors, and gifts that are associated with an anniversary in creating a gift basket. By combining the different elements you can create a gift basket that is unique as well as personal.
