    Water - A Symbolic Understanding

God speaks to us in many ways. We would be in more agreement on what the bible says if we understood that God speaks to us not only with words. He uses languages, numbers, symbols, figures of speech etc. One use of symbolism is His use of water throughout scripture to emphasize more said than can be said with words only. The subject of water is seen in batism, parting of the sea, Jonah, early rain, latter rain, cloud of wittness and so on. Water is used in a consistent way throughout. Resentment and Retaliation

It feels so right to retaliate when we’ve been wounded. Nothing seems more bittersweet as to get even. We willingly trade blow for blow with those we perceive to have broken trust with us. Hurray to Rick Warren for denouncing Uganda's anti-gay law, but where are other Christians?

As a career missionary to Africa, I fear what would happen to me on judgment day if I didn't speak out against what is happening in Uganda right now in the name of Christ. I was in the middle of typing my monthly newsletter when I decided to check my e-mail. The subject line read, "Pastor Rick Warren condemns Uganda anti-homosexuality bill." The Foreigner woman in Bible versus Quran (3)

The Bible says that, if you marry foreign women, you are unfaithful to God. King Solomon loved many foreign women, He had 700 wives and 300 concubines and his wives turned his heart after other gods; and his heart was not fully devoted to the Lord God. The Quran says that Solomon was an excellent servant. He was ever turning in repentance towards His Lord; he is ever betaking himself to Allah and engaged in His obedience. Dead Men Walking

Each person would have to decide for himself whether Paul spoke the truth, and whether or not to heed the truth that Paul spoke. Understanding what he was talking about was not sufficient, Paul called them to action, to flee from idolatry and to rely upon the Holy Spirit, who indwells believers. The Holy Spirit would evaluate the gospel that Paul taught and apply it to each believer's own life. Read: Dead Men Walking Read
