Allah Asks the Believers This Question (40) Why Do You Say That Which You Do not Do?
Author: Safaa Abdel-Aziz | Posted: 11-05-2008 | Comments: 0 | Views: 7 |
In the Noble Quran, Allah is asking mankind some important questions.
It seems compulsory for the serious one who is looking for the truth to have a look at those questions and if possible to answer them.
Allah' questions are many. In this series, these questions are chosen randomly.
-----------
In verses 61:1-3 of the Noble Quran, Allah asks the believers this question: why do you say that which you do not do? It is greatly hateful in the sight of Allah that you say that which you do not do; or you speak of doing that which you cannot do. Verily, all that is in the heavens and earth exalt and glorify Allah. He is the almighty, the wise. The verses indicate that there are wise creatures in the heavens!

Verses 61:1-3 of the Noble Quran give the question of this article and talk about it.
The meanings of the verses 61:1-3
Verse 61:1 says:
All that is in the heavens of created beings and all that is in the earth of creatures and living beings glorifies Allah, prays to Allah and remembers Allah; that is to say, everything proclaims His transcendence
Verily, Allah is the Mighty, in His kingdom, in retribution against those who disbelieve in Him and He is the Wise, in His command and decree, and He has decreed that none should be worshipped beside Him.
Verse 61:2 says:
O you who believe in Muhammad and the Quran!
why do you speak about that which you do not act upon?
This is because they said: “O Messenger of Allah! If we knew the most beloved deed to Allah, we would certainly do it”.
Then, the Prophet he informed them about the works which are dear to Him in His saying (O you who believe! Shall I show you a commerce that will save you from a painful doom?) whose pain extends to the hearts, they waited for as long as Allah willed, but Allah did not explain further.
They then said: “if only we knew what it is so that we give for it our wealth, persons and families”.
Allah answered by saying (You should believe in Allah and His messenger, and should strive for the cause of Allah with your wealth and your lives…), and so Allah explained to them what to do, saying: you should be firm in your belief in Allah and His Messenger and you should also strive to obey Allah using your wealth and own persons. But when they were tried in the Battle of Uhud and ran away from the battlefield, leaving the Prophet behind, Allah reproached them saying: why do you promise that which you cannot fulfill and why talk about that which you cannot perform?
Verse 61:3 says:
It is greatly loathsome and most hateful in the sight of Allah that you say that which ye do not; that you promise that which you cannot fulfill or speak of doing that which you cannot do.

Does the Lord Play? in Bible Versus Quran By: Prof.dr. Ibrahim Khalil | 13/06/2007 | Humor According to the Bible, 1) The Lord said that the backsliding Israel, played the harlot, 2) the evil spirit from the Lord (God) was upon Saul, 3) David played before the Lord. Also, the Bible says: Let the Lord command to seek out a man, who is a cunning player on an harp in order to calm down the evil spirit from the Lord; the Lord do that which seemeth him good and when the minstrel played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him.
On the other hand, the Quran says that Allah created the heavens and the earth (and us) NOT in PLAY! It is the People who are playing even when listening to their Lord's message(s). Then the Quran gives an example of a conversation between a Messenger and his people; and the Quran provides a question from Allah to whom who it may concern:"Did you think that We had created you only for play, and that you would never be returned to Us?"
