The meanings of the verses 28:76-83 of the Noble Quran:
Verses 28:76-83 of the Noble Quran are talking about "Qaroun", Moses' cousin, who was very rich man. He was corrupter in the earth in the earth through his disdain, haughtiness and great wealth.
Verses 28:78-79 are talking about what Qaroun said to the believers among the folk of Moses, and when Qaroun went forth before his people in his great finery and what the people who desired the life of this world and are interested in it said;
-------
Verse 28:78 says
Qaroun said to his people, the believers among the folk of Moses:
I have been given it, this wealth, only on account of knowledge I possess because Allah knows that I deserve it;
It is also said that this means: he made gold from his knowledge of alchemy.
It is also said that this means: he was the most knowledgeable of the Children of Israel in the Torah, after Moses and Aaron.
Allah, exalted be He, says: Does he not know that Allah had destroyed already of the generations before him men who were mightier than Him in strength, who were physically stronger than him and, and greater in the amassing?, of wealth; in other words, he does know this.
The guilty are not questioned of their sins, those who disbelieve in Allah will not be asked on the Day of Judgment about their sins because they will be known through distinct marks; and so they will be admitted into the Fire without a reckoning..

Those who were desirous of the life of the world, those who desired the life of this world said: Ah, would that unto us had been given the like of what has been given unto Qaroun of wealth!
‘O would that we had the like of what Qaroun has been given, this world.
Lo! He is lord of rare good fortune.
Truly he enjoys great fortune’, abundant fortune in it.
