In the Noble Quran, Allah is asking mankind some important questions.
It seems compulsory for the serious one who is looking for the truth to have a look at those questions and if possible to answer them.
Allah' questions are many. In this series, these questions are chosen randomly.
---------------
In verses 6:31-34 of the Noble Quran, Allah say: they are lost indeed, those who belied the Day of Judgment; when the hour overtakes them suddenly, they will say: alas, for us, that we neglected it; the life of this world is but playing and an amusement. Surely, the everlasting home is better for those who keep their duty to Allah, the cautious, those who guard against evil. Then Allah asks the disbelievers: "will you not then understand?"
---------------
Verses 6:31-34 give the question of this article and talk about it
The meanings of the verses 34:31-34
Verse 6:31 says:
They indeed are losers who deny their meeting with Allah, i.e. deny their resurrection after death;
Allah says: leave them until, when the Hour comes upon them suddenly, until when the Hour, the Resurrection, comes upon them suddenly, they shall say, ‘Alas for us, how great is our sadness, And how sorry we are, that we neglected it! We have neglected faith and repentance in our worldly life! They bear upon their back their burdens, their sins. On their backs they shall be bearing their burdens, so that these come to them at the Resurrection in the vilest of forms and with the most putrid of smells, and they ride them. Ah, evil is that which they bear of sins!
Verse 6:32 says:
The life of this world, that is, preoccupation with it, is nothing but a game and a diversion.
Naught is the life of the world, the comfort and enjoyment of the life of the world is nothing save a pastime amusement and a play worthless activity.
While obedience and what is conducive to it are of the things of the Hereafter; surely the abode of the Hereafter, namely, Paradise, is better for those who are righteous and guard against evil. What, do they not understand?
Have you then no sense? Do you not comprehend that this world is evanescent and that the Hereafter is everlasting?
Verse 6:33 says:
We know indeed that it grieves you, O Muhammad, that, which they say, to you, in denial and demand for proofs; yet it is not that they deny you, in secret, for they know that you are truthful. Those evildoers knowingly reject and deny the signs of God, the Quran; they flout the revelations of Allah quite openly.
Verse 6:34 says:
Messengers indeed have been denied before you, yet they endured patiently the denial and the persecution and they were patient in the face of their people's harm until our victorious help came to them, through the destruction of their peoples, so be patient until the victorious help comes to you through the destruction of your people.
There is none to alter the decisions of Allah in that He helps His people against His enemies.
There is none to change the words of Allah, His promises, and there have already come to you some of the tidings of the messengers Allah sent before; how their people denied them, as your people deny you now, and how they were patient. Through such tidings, your heart can be at peace.

Verses 34:31-34 in different translations:
Verse 34:31
QARIB: they are lost indeed, those who belied the meeting with Allah. When the hour overtakes them suddenly, they will say: 'alas, for us, that we neglected it! 'on their backs they shall be bearing their sinful loads; how evil is what they sin!
SHAKIR: they are losers indeed who reject the meeting of Allah; until when the hour comes upon them all of a sudden they shall say: o our grief for our neglecting it! And they shall bear their burdens on their backs; now surely evil is that which they bear
PICKTHAL: they indeed are losers who deny their meeting with Allah until, when the hour cometh on them suddenly, they cry: alas for us, that we neglected it! They bear upon their backs their burdens. Ah, evil is that which they bear!
YUSUFALI: lost indeed are they who treat it as a falsehood that they must meet Allah, - until on a sudden the hour is on them, and they say: "ah! Woe unto us that we took no thought of it"; for they bear their burdens on their backs, and evil indeed are the burdens that they bear?
Verse 34:32
QARIB: the life of this world is but playing and an amusement. Surely, the everlasting home is better for the cautious. Will you not understand?
SHAKIR: and this world's life is naught but a play and an idle sport and certainly the abode of the hereafter is better for those who guard (against evil); do you not then understand?
PICKTHAL: naught is the life of the world save a pastime and a spot. Better far is the abode of the hereafter for those who keep their duty (to Allah). Have ye then no sense?
YUSUFALI: what is the life of this world but play and amusement? But best is the home in the hereafter, for those who are righteous. Will ye not then understand?
Verse 34:33
QARIB: we know what they say saddens you. it is not you that they belie; but the harm doers deny the verses of Allah.
SHAKIR: we know indeed that what they say certainly grieves you, but surely they do not call you a liar; but the unjust deny the communications of Allah
PICKTHAL: we know well how their talk grieveth thee, though in truth they deny not thee (Muhammad) but evil-doers flout the revelations of Allah.
YUSUFALI: we know indeed the grief which their words do cause thee: it is not thee they reject: it is the signs of Allah, which the wicked contemn.
Verse 34:34
QARIB: messengers indeed were belied before you, yet they became patient with that which they were belied, and were hurt until our help came to them. There is none to alter the words of Allah; and there has already come to you some news of the messengers.
SHAKIR: and certainly messengers before you were rejected, but they were patient on being rejected and persecuted until our help came to them; and there is none to change the words of Allah, and certainly there has come to you some information about the messengers
PICKTHAL: messengers indeed have been denied before thee, and they were patient under the denial and the persecution till our succour reached them. There is none to alter the decisions of Allah. Already there hath reached thee (somewhat) of the tidings of the messengers (we sent before).
YUSUFALI: rejected were the messengers before thee: with patience and constancy they bore their rejection and their wrongs, until our aid did reach them: there is none that can alter the words (and decrees) of Allah. Already hast thou received some account of those messengers?
