The Units of Weight stated in the Bible are Gerah, Beka, Shekel, Mina and the Talent.

While the Units of Weight cited in the Quran are the Atomic Weight and the Subatomic Weight in addition to the weights that are more than that.

However, the intellectual scholars claim that the Quran is quoted or misquoted from the Bible.

The Units of Weight used in the Bible are Gerah, Beka, Shekel, Mina and Talent; they are mentioned five times, five times, 92 times, 11 times and 46 times respectively with a total frequency of 159 times.

The total frequency of the Units of Weight in the Quran is eight times, i.e., the Bible cites the Units of Weight 20 times more than the Quran does.

Furthermore, the total words in the Bible are 788,280 while the total words in the Quran are 77,473. It follows that, the Bible has the likely of more than 10 times than the Quran word-wise to talk about The Units of Weight. In addition, the Bible has the prospective of more than 20 times than the Quran topic-wise to utter about the Units of Weight.

The Units of Weight in the Bible:

Gerah, Beka and Shekel:

Exodus 30:13

"Each one who crosses over to those already counted is to give a half shekel, according to the sanctuary shekel, which weighs twenty Gerahs. This half shekel is an offering to the LORD."

Exodus 30:13

"Each one who crosses over to those already counted is to give a half shekel, according to the sanctuary shekel, which weighs twenty Gerahs. This half shekel is an offering to the LORD."

Genesis 24:22

"When the camels had finished drinking, the man took out a gold nose ring weighing a Beka and two gold bracelets weighing ten shekels."

Genesis 24:22

"When the camels had finished drinking, the man took out a gold nose ring weighing a Beka and two gold bracelets weighing ten shekels."

Genesis 24:22

"When the camels had finished drinking, the man took out a gold nose ring weighing a Beka and two gold bracelets weighing ten shekels."

Genesis 23:16

"Abraham agreed to Ephron's terms and weighed out for him the price he had named in the hearing of the Hittites: four hundred shekels of silver, according to the weight current among the merchants."

2 Samuel 14:26

"..Two hundred shekels by the royal standard."

Exodus 38:24

"..29 talents and 730 shekels, according to the sanctuary shekel."

The Mina and the "Sixty":

Ezekiel 45:12

"The shekel is to consist of twenty Gerahs. Twenty shekels plus twenty-five shekels plus fifteen shekels equal one mina."

Herein, one mina=20+25+15 shekels. I wonder why the Bible uses this mathematical equation to tell that one mina = 60 shekels, why the Bible did not use "sixty" instead of "20+25+15". "Sixty" is mentioned 35 times in the Bible!

The Talent:

Exodus 25:39

"A talent of pure gold is to be used for the lamp stand and all these accessories."

Exodus 38:25

"…100 talents and 1,775 shekels, according to the sanctuary shekel".

The definition of The Units of Weight in the Bible:

- Gerah means a grain or kernel, and hence a small weight. It is the twentieth part of a shekel.

- Bekah (Beka) means "a half" i.e., "half a shekel,"

-Shekel, means "a weight," it is only in the Old Testament, One Shekel = twenty Gerahs. Also, there are three types of Shekels, those used by Merchant, the sanctuary shekel and Shekel weighed by the royal standard.

- A Ma'neh, (Mina) means "a part" or "portion" it is equal to 60 shekels.

- A Talent of silver is equal to 3,000 shekels, i.e., 125 lbs.

- A Talent of gold is equal to 6,000 shekels, i.e., 250 lbs.

In conclusion:

The Gerah is the twentieth part of a shekel (= O.571 gram)

One Beka = 10 Gerah or a half of a shekel or 5.812 grams

One Shekel = 20 Gerah

0ne mina= 60 shekels

One talent = 3000 shekels

One talent of gold = 30 mina

One talent of silver = 50 mina

From the above, the least unit of weight in the Bible is about 0.75 gram.

The Units of Weight in the Quran are:

- The weight of a mustard seed

- The weight of an atom

- The Subatomic weight

The weight of a mustard seed:

Surah 21:47

"We shall set up scales of justice for the Day of Judgment, so that not a soul will be dealt with unjustly in the least. And if there be (no more than) the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it (to account): and enough are We to take account."

Surah 31:16

"O my son!" (Said Luqman), "If there be (but) the weight of a mustard-seed and it were (hidden) in a rock, or (any where) in the heavens or on earth, Allah will bring it forth: for Allah understands the finest mysteries, (and) is well-acquainted (with them)."

In these two verses, Allah understands everything, knows everything and His Global knowledge are well-acquainted with the finest and hidden things.

In verse 31:6, "Luqman", the famous wise man is not found in the Bible.

The weight of an atom (the Atomic weight):

The other gods which man believes in are powerless.

Surah 34:22

"Say: "Call upon other (gods) whom ye fancy, besides Allah: they have no power, - not the weight of an atom - in the heavens or on earth; no (sort of) share have they therein, nor is any of them a helper to Allah."

The unbelievers deny the Day of Judgment and the Afterlife.

Surah 34:3

"And those who disbelieve say: the hour shall not come upon us. Say: yea! By my lord, the knower of the unseen, it shall certainly come upon you; not the weight of an atom becomes absent from him, in the heavens or in the earth, and neither less than that nor greater, but (all) is in a clear book."

At the Day of Judgment, Allah is never unjust even to the weight of an atom. Also, Allah the Most Kind doubles the reward of the good deeds.

Surah 4:40

"surely Allah is never unjust to the weight of an atom, and if it is a good deed he multiplies it and gives from himself a great reward in the least degree: if there is any good (done) He doubleth it, and giveth from His own presence a great reward."

The Ultimate fate of man; People are divided into two groups; good and evil, each of which will receive the fruit of their own actions.

Surah 99:7 and 8

[7] Then shall anyone who has done an atom's weight of good, see it!"

[8] And anyone who has done an atom's weight of evil, shall see it."

The Subatomic weight:

Surah 10:61

"and you are not (engaged) in any affair, nor do you recite concerning it any portion of the Quran, nor do you do any work but we are witnesses over you when you enter into it, and there does not lie concealed from your lord the weight of an atom in the earth or in the heaven, nor any thing less than that nor greater, but it is recorded in a clear book."

In this verse, nothing is concealed or hidden from Allah who knows everything wherever it is or whenever it is even if it is less than an atom weight wise and or more than that.

Back to our main issue; this is my question to you smart readers: Is the Quran quoted from the Bible? And which book preceded the sciences? The book which uses the atomic weight and the subatomic weight as the units of weight or the book which uses the Gerah, the Beka, the Shekel, the Mina and the Talent as the units of weight.

Does the Lord Sleep? in Bible and Quran
By: Prof.dr. Ibrahim Khalil | 10/04/2007 | Science
The teaching of the Bible cites that the Lord sleeps and His Sleep is pleasant. The Lord said: I awoke and looked around. My sleep had been pleasant to me. David –in Psalms- said: The Lord awoke as from sleep, as a man wakes from the stupor of wine, Arise, O LORD, in your anger, Awake, my God, Awake, and rise my God and Lord, When you arise, O Lord, you will despise them as fantasies, Awake, O Lord! Why do you sleep? Rouse yourself. Also, Isaiah said: O arm of the LORD; awake, as in days gone by, as in generations of old. However, Scientists say that there are many creatures which never ever sleep like our hearts, many millions of Blood cells, many billions of Bacteria, many billions of Fungi, many billions of Stars etc. On the other hand, the Quran says that Allah never ever Sleep. Also, it is narrated that Moses asked Allah: O my Lord, Do you sleep? And Allah gave him the practical answer.

Bible Versus Quran Versus Sciences, (44) Does the Lord Repent?
By: Prof.dr. Ibrahim Khalil | 13/04/2007 | Religion
The Bible says the Lord commands the Israelites to Repent from all their transgressions. However, the Bible says that they did not repent. Instead of them, the Lord himself was the one who always repents. Moses said to the Lord: repent and do not bring disaster on your people, Then the LORD repented. David said to the Lord: Repent, Have compassion on your servants, Then the LORD repented. Joel and Jonah said to the Lord: repent of the evil, and God repented of the evil. The Lord sent an angel unto Jerusalem to destroy it, Then He repented. Also, the Lord said: If the people repent and obey, I will repent. However, it seems likely that the Lord usually repented. Nevertheless, the Lord asks: Should I repent? But, What if the Lord does not repent? He will bend and string his bow and struck down nations in fury subdued with aggression. The nations should be careful because the Lord have decided and will not repent. Nonetheless, the Bible says that God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent On the other hand, the Quran declares that Allah cannot be questioned for His acts, but they will be questioned (for theirs); and He never ever repents. It is the man who will be asked about his acts. Also, the Quran gives three examples of the most famous Historical Repents and they are 1) Adam's son, 2) People after Noah and 3) Thamud people. Also, the Quran says that the Hypocrites will certainly repent in the Afterlife. And, the Quran gives an advice to the Believers in order not to repent.

Play the Harlot (whore) in Bible and Quran
By: Prof.dr. Ibrahim Khalil | 15/06/2007 | Nature
The Bible says that 1) Tamar, Judah's daughter in law is the first woman in the Bible which played the harlot , 2) if the daughter of any priest played the whore she shall be burnt with fire, 3) If a girl gets married and found that she is not virgin, the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she dies, 4) upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot, 5) thou hast played the harlot with many lovers, 6) Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she hath played the harlot, 7) The backsliding Israel committed adultery and her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also, 8) Jerusalem played the harlot (repeated four times), 9) Aholah played the harlot when she was mine (Mine is referred to the Lord!), 10) Aholah's sister, Aholibah which is Jerusalem, multiplied her whore and adultery! 11) they go in unto a woman that playeth the harlot, 12) their mother hath played the harlot and 13) Israel plays the harlot. On the other hand, the Quran says that 1) leave them playing, until they encounter the Day of Judgment, 2) avoid those who take their religion as playing and 3) The life of this world is nothing but a play. while the Everlasting Residence is the Eternal Life, if they but knew.

The Unbelievers Playing Game in the Sacred Books
By: Prof.dr. Ibrahim Khalil | 17/06/2007 | Self Help
Upon talking about the play in 45 verses, the Bible never mentions the Unbelievers in these 45 verses. Upon talking about the play in 19 verses, the Quran mentions the Unbelievers in 10 out of these 19 verses. Allah says that: Did you think that We had created you only for play, and that you would never be returned to Us? ' Then the Quran describes the Unbelievers and says that: 1) They are in doubt playing; 2) They listen to the message of Allah while they are playing! And 3) And they are mocking! Also, dives an advice about what the Believers have to do with the Unbelievers? If they kept their way, Leave them until they know the truth at the Day of Judgment. Finally, the Quran describes the fate of the Unbelievers at the Day of Judgment.

The Famous Persons Who Said Woe Unto Me in Bible and Quran
By: Prof.dr. Ibrahim Khalil | 25/06/2007 | Politics
According to the Bible, King David, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Job, Micah, the Philistines and, the daughter of Zion said, all of them said: Woe is me or Woe unto me. King David said: Woe is me! Because I dwell in the tents of Kedar! – Isaiah said: Woe is me! Because I am a man of unclean lips and mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts – Jeremiah said: 1) Woe unto us! For we are spoiled, 2) Woe is me because I am borne a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! Every one curses me, 3) Woe unto us! For the day goeth away, for the shadows of the evening are stretched out, 4) Woe unto us that we have sinned! - The Philistines said; God is come into the camp. Woe unto us, who shall deliver us out of the hand of these mighty Gods? And the daughter of Zion: Woe is me now! For my soul is wearied because of murderers. On the other hand, the Quran says that when an unbeliever sees his book that recorded his deed he will say: 'Woe to me would that my book had not been given to me! And the Unbelievers will say: 1) Woe for us! 'Who has roused us from our graves? This is what Allah promised; the messengers have spoken the truth! ', 2) Woe to us! This is the Day of Judgment! , 3) Woe to us! We did wrong indeed!" and 4) 'woe to us, truly we were insolent

The Scientific Impacts of " Who are the Evil Doers Who Deserve Woes?" in Bible and Quran
By: Prof.dr. Ibrahim Khalil | 29/06/2007 | Science
When talking about the evil doers who deserve Woes, the Bible sets 14 strange ideas and six beautiful concepts. The strange ideas are: 1) Slay all her bullocks; let them go down to the slaughter, 2) Woe unto him that saith unto his father, what begettest thou, 3) Woe to who hath wounds without cause? Who hath redness of eyes? And go to seek mixed wine, 4) Woe to him that is alone when he falleth, 5) Woe to the land, when the king is a child, and the princes eat in the morning!, 6) Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, 7) Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, 8) Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, 9) Woe unto him that gives his neighbor drink, 10) Woe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake, 11) Woe unto you that are rich!, 12) Woe unto you that are full!, 13) Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! And 14) the day of the Lord is darkness, and not light. The six beautiful concepts are 1) Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the Lord, 2) Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!, 3) Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!, 4) Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!, 5) Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood and iniquity! And 6) many are the woes of the wicked. On the other hand, the Quran sets Two Scientific questions for the evil doers:1) Who create you? And 2) Who have made the interior of the earth a grave for both the living and the dead? We all know that the interior of the earth is a grave for the dead. However, the interior of the earth is a grave also for the livings! Do you know that one gram of the soil contains many millions of Living Bacteria? This is what the today sciences say! Also the Quran says that throughout the history, man used to mock every Messenger that Allah sent to them. Then the Quran cites: 1) Woe to the liars and falsehood-mongers who do not believe in the Day of Judgment and Justice! And in the Hell and Heavens! 2) Woe unto him that does not believe in the Quran because the Quran is the truth and is not a falsehood, and hence, 3) be ready for that Day!
