Finding the Lord and welcoming the Holy Spirit into your heart can change your life. It can fill you with a peace that is unexplainable. However, as Christians we are compelled to take action once we have come to know the Lord.
If you are a believer, you must take action and share your faith with others. When you evangelize, you are becoming a shining light to the world and a disciple doing the Lord's work. What does this action involve?
You have to live it. You need to both talk the talk and walk the walk. This means that your actions should match your beliefs. Do not just be a Christian for one hour a day on Sunday.
As Christians we are taught to help others. Christ demonstrated this again and again in the Bible. Going out of your way to help others does three things. First it has an immediate benefit on the person you are helping. Second, it makes you feel good to know that you are helping others in need. Third, you are showing the world the heart of a Christian.
We also must share our faith in the Lord. Be careful not to preach to heavily or to cram your beliefs down the throats of others, this can repel them away from you. Instead, live the life of a Christian and others will see that you are different, that you walk with a light that they would like to have.
Another effective way to spread the word of God to others is by wearing Christian t-shirts and Christian jewelry. People will see the message that you wear on your back, or around your neck. Christian t-shirts are great conversation starters and are a way to evangelize without even having to open your mouth to say a word.
There is something about being bold that God seems to answer. We as believers are sent out to the world to share our faith. We are commanded by Jesus when he delivered the Sermon on the Mount to be salt and light. Salt influences and flavors all it comes into contact with. So should we.
Jesus also said we are to be lights to a dark world. He said a city on a hill can not be hidden. Our light is to shine before men. So at every opportunity and with every person, that light should shine forth from us. We are to be beacons that points the way to Christ.
Do not forget about the power of prayer. Pray for others. Pray for the opportunity to share the joys of being a Christian to others and you will be amazed at what results can come.
Being a disciple and doing the Lord's work is truly rewarding. You are growing closer to God and earning both a place for you in heaven, and hopefully bringing some others with you.

By: David Seragih | 10/05/2008 | Spirituality
We have looked at servanthood being the key to promotion and authority. Now, we will look at Servanthood being the key to destiny. Let go to Genesis 24 where we will look at Abraham wanting a wife for his son, Isaac. So he sent out his oldest servant who ruled over Abraham’s household to look for a girl. This is a beautiful story of our times. God, the Father, is a picture of Abraham. Issac is a picture of Jesus the Son. God wants a bride, a generation of believers for His son, Jesus Christ.
