As a spiritual-futurist my commentaries and articles deal primarily with an interpretation of current events in light of macro-universal forces at play.
So how's the living in that box that you've built that you call YOUR THEOLOGY! and since you've found a couple of million others who believe as you do (think they TAUGHT you what you believe), you feel secure. Don't bother with the fact that tens of millions and hundreds of millions of other people don't share your beliefs. Press on with your certitude! Some might even call it arrogance.
Certitude is one of the major causes of division within the body of Christ.
Personally, I am living more by the Spirit than I ever have. I know so little intellectually, but as long as a I know that my relationship with God is growing what's the point. But you may ask, how do I know that I am KNOWING God? Fruit baby, fruit! And the witness is not from me egoic paradigm, but from my wife and close friends who SEE, FEEL, and TASTE the fruit.
The true significance of what happened on the cross will forever be a mystery, one in which the best we can do is talk in Biblical metaphors. The three major ones that came out of that time that's formed much of our theology are: emancipation of slaves, Latin law court rules and regulations, and the sacrificial practices of the old Testament.
They so don't work in 2008!
But when someone uses a term we're not familiar with we debunk them when in essence they're saying the same thing, but in modern terms- maybe even in language that the world can relate to versus 2,000 year old verbage.
Walter Starcke speaks of the Consciousness of I AM. Can you hear or substitute the word Spirit? Neville simply says that God is IMAGINATION! I did a knee-jerk pull back on that one. Then I asked myself. Do I want to learn from a man of God that transformed many lives or do I want to stay in my personal box of theology? When I said I want to explore, I realized that when Neville (as in Goddard) was saying that God is imagagination he was only saying that God is the Creator! All things that ARE came first from our imagination, our thoughts, and our spirit being.
All things are twice created- first mentally-spiritually and then physically.
What's you box keeping out, keeping you from? How dark is your box? How many people, and what kind of people do you let in your box? Can kids with purple hair, men with tatoos, men trying to be women, and women trying to be men visit your box? Jesus actually enjoyed visiting all the boxes of the world. Why not? He died for the WORLD!
