2 Timothy 1:3-5
Sometimes we wonder if there's any way we can leave a mark of the time we spent on earth. How will any one know we've been here? How can we leave behind something that will benefit society? Will others know of our religion in Jesus Christ?
the answer's a resounding yes - it's your youngsters. The way you rear your kids ripples down from generation to generation. If you ground your youngsters in godly principles thru both word and action, they are going to follow in your footsteps as they get older. As Paul writes Timothy, we see that Timothy had a spiritual heritage. Timothy's grandmother, Lois, and mummy, Eunice, were both dedicated to God. Paul saw that same attention in Timothy, who learned it from his kin.
When your children imitate you, what place will Jesus have in their lives? Will they be a man or woman of prayer? Will they develop powerful, godly relationships? Will the Word of the Lord have a place of importance in their lives?
You have to be a man or woman of prayer. God's Word must have a powerful place of importance in your life. When you do these things, your children will see you and do similarly ( Proverbs 22:6 ). often we query if there's any way we may be able to leave a mark of the time we spent on earth. How will anyone know we have been here? How can we leave behind something that will benefit society? Will others know of our religion in Jesus Christ? The answer's a strong yes - it's your children. The way you rear your kids ripples down from generation to generation. If you ground your kids in Godly axioms thru both word and action, they are going to follow in your footsteps as they get older. As Paul writes Timothy, we see that Timothy had a non mundane heritage. So, to hand down this Godly foundation, you may show them what place Jesus has in your life. You have to be a man or woman of prayer. God's Word must have a robust place of importance in your life. When you do these things, your kids will see you and do in a similar way ( Proverbs 22:6 ).
