In most charismatic churches on a given Sunday morning you will hear mighty warring praise songs. Christians will be storming the gates of hell and binding the strogman. The phrase "Our God is a mighty God" is bellowed loudly and clearly. God is an awesome God. But of course that is Sunday morning. Monday is of course, a different matter.
On Monday morning when the rumor goes around that there will be cut backs in the office, fear grabs ahold of the Sunday mighty warrior. Monday afternoon when the car breaks down on the way home, worry takes over the Sunday mighty warrior: how will the bills get paid? Monday evening when Jehovah Witness students knock on the door, the Sunday mighty warrior doesn't answer the door because there's the chance of being led astray. Fear doesn't increase converts.
How does one transfer the Sunday morning "mighty warrior" mentality to Monday through Friday?
The answer is you don't and you should not. Sunday morning or whenever one goes to church should be for lifting one's spirit to touch the Spirit, to experience love, and to submit to the inner Spirit of God. Above all the message should be how can one love more: both God and our neighbors (Matthew 22:37-39).
Worse yet is to become intolerant of diverse and differing ideas, cultures, and religious persuasions that one encounters throughout the week. We are to be the salt, leave, and light. That means we must blend in and not stand out. That doesn't mean condoning what one should not, but neither does it mean judging all who see life differently than we.
We are mammals which means we're curious. We are spirits which mean we're one with all. We are servants which means we don't lord it over others. And finally, we are the object of God's love which means we need to share that love with others. Many need a new image, view, vista, paradigm of who God really is.
Being fearful and intolerant is the antithesis of the abba Father that Jesus described.

Why you are a worker?
By: olu mike omoasegun | 08/12/2009As workers in the vineyard of the Lord, we should pause, and ask ourselves this important question: Why am I a worker? Failure to do this has led many to handle the service and work of God with carelessness, non-chalet and carefree attitudes. Many are what they like, the way they like and at the time they like, simply because they don’t know why they are workers. Others are non-committal and ineffective because they have the wrong notion of why they are workers in His vineyard.

By: Prof.dr. Ibrahim Khalil | 07/12/2009The Bible says that the wisdom will save you from the Foreigner Woman, for her house leads down to death and her paths to the spirits of the dead. On the other hand, there is NO Foreigner Women therein in the Quran.

Overwhelmed By Numbers
By: Rabbi Simcha Weinberg | 07/12/2009I was overwhelmed with all the posts on Shalom Aleichem that I received in response to my invitation. I spent so much time responding to emails, posting, editing etc. that I barely had time to write anything this week. I was thrilled to receive so many beautiful insights into a song that so many take for granted, but I was also distracted. I am far from the best time-manager. (Busy-itis)
The Tree of Life: A Cure For Bittered Waters
By: Stephen Stillman | 06/12/2009We are familiar with the story of Moses leading the people of Israel out of bondage in Egypt. One of their most critical times during this journey was when they were suffering from an almost intolerable thirst. How their hearts beat with joy when they came to Marah and saw water! Just as quickly as their hearts become joyful, despair came again because the waters were too bitter to drink. All of us sooner or later in life come to Marah where we find bitter waters in the cup of human experience.
